Okay, I marked special snowflake because damn it I have always wanted to be a special snowflake!!
But on the topic of sig lines. I actually enjoy reading everyones sig lines, its like a little insight into who they are and what they think. The really long ones get irritating sometimes but only when I am in a hurry trying to read a thread and well then I can just deal and scroll past.

Of course this thread/poll was inspired by the hijack discussion about sig lines in another thread. So no, LSR doesn't suffer from a complex of persecution or paranoia is seeing a connection between both.

That being said, this thread was just me being bored and wanting to entertain myself. A new poll seemed like a good idea. That's all.

I'm with you there. My main issue with sig lines are aesthetic. Some bother my aesthetic. Like all those cock shots av around here that annoy the shit out of me. Really, the only dick I want to be talking to is Homburg's Cock™. Without the visual.

Sigs are fine. Good for you. If you don't like them, turn them off. If you do, let em stay. But, dead honest, I would not mind it if a frikken pixel limit was placed on them. No more than 250-600 pixels, or some mess like that. It's the size of the sig that makes me want to punch someone straight in the junk. Yeah, flash, animated crap gets on my nerves, but if it's only 60pixels high, I don't care.

But, at the end of the day, the scroll wheel is my friend.

I voted special snowflake. Some sigs bother me a lot more than others. Usually, it has something to do with the poster attached to said sig line. So I just use the ignore button 'stead of the "turn off sig line" button.

Can I second that? I really HATE when people feel the need to show their bits to all and sundry. I mean if it's in a thread - that's one thing. You choose to go into that thread and see their bits, but in a sig? Please don't.

i voted text only. a little bit of an insight into character is good, but a little bit is better than too much. i don't like moving, flashing stuff. i get a strong urge to kill phoenix's bloody ant.

i haven't had a sig line until recently, but it's more in the way of an explanation than anything else.

There is no need to resist. I checked the box in the options tab marked "Keep bits private"

as for me, I like knowing how people represent themselves, that's the only reason I keep the AV's and Sig lines on. Otherwise I'd have them off in a second. I like the K.I.S.S. approach to things, so blinky flashy crap, changing text color and rose icons are not my style. There's also been times when I'm not sure if the person is still talking or if that's the start of their Sig line.

I think the only sig line that's ever made me really irritated is the one with the cheerleaders in it. I don't even remember/know the user's name, but I know that the image is drastically too wide for the forum layout and my laptop browser, and I don't get it. Is there something funny in the photo I'm missing? Why that photo?

I don't turn them off because I like to read them....in moderation. It helps me remember who people are as I'm terrible with names. There are only about 10 people on this board that I really REMEMBER, I'm that bad at it :/ So sig lines and AVs help me keep people straight a bit easier.

However....when they are really long and have lots of images in them, I tend to admittedly get easily annoyed with that person. It's kind of like in real life when someone is say, a gum snapper and gum snapping annoys you. You tend to be less tolerant of them and more quick to anger because that annoyance just grates on your nerves. Long, animated sig lines are my online gum snappers *shrugs* I don't instantly think badly of someone if they have one, but I'm sure eventually it takes a toll on my desire to interact with them.

Not really so much long ones as much as LOUD ones. The bright, big text and flashing graphics that take up half a page. Is like a fine line between simply chewing gum politely and snapping/blowing bubbles while someone is trying to have a decent conversation with you.

That's why I don't turn mine off. I wish we could selectively turn some off and leave others on. There are some that really annoy me. But it's just the internet, I'm not going to bitch about somethng so minor when there are real life battles more worth my energy.

Yes, there should be an option in our settings for "turn off all profiles/avs with pink, perky or private bits". I'd rather not have close ups of clits or cocks in avs or profiles. Pic threads RAWK though.

im with you on the AV thing. i tured them off once by mistake ad it took me easily twice as long to get through something. the pictures help me remember who is who at a glance

I dont remember things like this bothering me before meeting Malin. He has .. um.. issues.. with mouth noises... and I've become so sensitive to them, they bother me.

Wow, I totally didn't realize this thread was about you. I must have missed some big drama elsewhere. IMHO your sig is not that bad. You'd have to try harder to make it annoying, I think. Add some big images, some animation, and about 15 more lines of BIG text, and then it might be annoying.

Unfortunately I don't think Lit supports HTML in sigs I'm pretty sure specifying width is not possible in BBcode, but I could be wrong!

I consider my own sig fairly tidy, but I don't know what others think of it. I just like my little ladybugs.

Most of the sig lines of the BDSMers aren't bad, but if you ever wander over into the Playground -- look out! There are a few people who have such huge graphics that you have to scroll down half a page to get to the next post. Those irritate me!

I do have an animated graphic in mine, but I don't add my signature to every post I make. This one - yes.
