Sick of the Abuse!

QUOTE Freddie :D To throw statistics back at you, 9 out of 10 anonymous posters are bashers and not helpful critics.

Absolute nonsense my good man. The truth is just the opposite – 9 out of 10 anonymous posts are complimentary. The statistics are very clear on this point.

You can't get people to vote in national elections, what makes a writer think that a reader will vote for his or her story?

Because I’ve done it! I’d guess I’ve tripled or quadrupled the number of people who vote on a typical scouries story over the last couple of years. Yes the percentage who take the time to vote is still low but there are techniques you can use that will significantly improve your numbers. Why not try some of them?

…Everything on this site is catered to for the reader and not for the writer.

I wish!

It should be but its not! The actual physical presentation of our stories (how they appear on the screen) makes reading them very difficult. I just wish manu would cater to the reader more by improving story presentation.

And why not let the reader have a better idea of what the story is about before he clicks it open (maybe with a list of story tags a la SOL)?

Or why not show readers the rating of the story and how many votes it’s received before they have to click it open?

Why are the popular stories hidden at the back?

Why is there no weekly or monthly best seller lists?

And our readers are faced with an awful lot of stories that should have never seen the light of a LITEROTICAN day. Quite frankly, and notwithstanding the huge number of red H’s that seem to sprout everywhere, a huge percentage of the stories on this site are absolutely terrible. Our poor readers have to wade through story after story to find the odd gem.

Please don’t suggest the site caters to our readers. It’s the opposite that's true. L + M bend over backwards for we authors - to the detriment of our readers.

…You love counting votes, hits, and comments more than anyone. You've made a business out of it.

Exactly! And a quite profitable business it is. But I don’t feel the same way as you. I welcome all comments, all votes.

Low votes don’t bother me. Even malicious ones. I’ve always truly felt that all stories on the site (including mine) are scored way too high. While manu’s changes have lowered scores some they’re still too high.

And I welcome anyone who wants to comment on my stories. With a compliment or an insult. Anonymously or signed. It doesn’t matter.

Yeah, so that name and those stories will serve the same fate as the stories of Bostonfictionwriter? I don't think so. Suffice to say, that my "other" stories and my "other" identities are doing just fine where they are.

so, are you saying that it's only the stories that you post under this handle that get slagged off and it's purely sour grapes from AH board members?

I suggest you keep this nic for the forum and continue to post your work under another nic in that case.

Sorry, my mistake. You are talking about the average writer who writes here, whereas, I'm talking about my stories. Nine out of ten anonymous posters who comment on my stories are bashers.

Thank you, that is what I intend on doing.

I'm sorry, it doesn't go the "they're picking on me" whine, so don't count on BFW to acknowledge it. Glad you brought it up--I didn't know about this feature (although I don't feel the need to use it--yet). Thanks.

Whenever we have an intelligent exchange without calling one another names, you are the first to start shit, as you have demonstrated here by bashing me. Can you be civil?

There are no intelligent exchange options left with you, BFW. You've shot the moon so often on common decency that there's no coming back. Your only option I know of is to change posting names and, most important, posting personalities.

Not calling yourself "one of the greatest writers to ever grace this site" would be a good start. Insulting the greatest writers to ever grace this site with that comment is the height of incivility.

I'm not really looking for a start from BOSTONFICTIONWRITER. Having been one of the principle recipients of his ugliness--although certainly not the one harmed the most--I don't grant him a "do over" under that posting name--forever.

It's not like this is a real person. If he wants to change, let him drop the posting name/personality altogether and try starting out with a new slate.

I've already given him that do-over. Don't waste your time.

Pity, because he actually has talent, but he wastes most of it by coughing up half-baked versions of what his stories should be, nailing himself to a cross on the forums, and screaming martyr.

I did and I have. Presently, I'm using...sr71plt, but you know that already since I'm you, I mean, you're me.

Certainly, I am one of the better writers on this site. Regardless of the argument of quality versus quantity, everyone by Master X has matched my output, creativity, and modesty.

I'm a legend. When they think of Literotica, they think of...Bostonfictionwriter. It's true.

My name is synonymous with the site.

Thank you for calling me one of the greatest writers to have graced this site.

Yet, Dark, the forums have nothing to do with my stories.

"It's all about the story...stupid."

I'm not calling you stupid, of course. It's just a line that I use when someone bashes one of my masterpieces.

Good luck in the Earth Day contest, by the way. Only, you won't win, I'm sorry to say. I already know the winner. A little birdie whispered it to me and...it's a woman.

He tried that and it didn't work. People saw through him and his "new" stories suffered. Although I find his lies to be the most amusing considering his mantra of "I only write under one name" went out the window with his latest confession.

You're just jealous PrincessAirHead because you wish you could write as well as I can.

By the way, I love that new avatar that you have of your ass crack. Only...why are you wearing a bra on your ass? Hey, whatever floats your boat.

Good luck in the Earth Day contest. You have balls to enter that story. It really is poorly conceived, as is most of all that you write.
