This next painting was one of the first I've ever painted, finished in my first semester of a painting class. I painted it in oils, which I rarely use now. Anyway, it's titled "Bentenrai" and it's one of 2 cubist style paintings I've ever done...

the door is open and she walks through, feeling the warmth. but more importantly, she revels in the light. she is followed by her spirit into a realm of total bliss; never to worry about the evils of a world left behind. she travels into the eternal.........just for the briefest of moments she reaches for the extended hand before turning and walking back to her safety, head hung in shame

Here is the original painting that started the "Nazare Was Here" series. I sold it several years ago after it got into the juried art show at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego. At the time it was my #1 favorite painting...I was sad to see it go, but at least I got some money for it and ate for a whole month!
