cocktail...I get that a lot, people thinking I airbrushed my work. No it's chalk pastel. I work with the colors and mix them just right to get those subtle shades.

You are certainly a master at it.

Here's an asbtract one titles "Blue Cross." It's mixed media with maple leaves on it...

Angel...I'm going to have to work on another angel. I'm all angel'd out.

Pyper...I have no idea what Shingen means. Although it's the name of a character in my writings...

Cool.

Shingen (pronounced SHIN-GEN as in GAP) means "Compassionate View" and refers to the way in which we view the world and others around us. A true Martial Artist learns to understand himself and others and tries to consider the views of others when making decisions

The Kanji characters for Shingen Do mean:
Compassionate View - Way

A vital part of training is our attitude which enables us to absorb new information and develop new skills.

Using the concept of Compassion in our thinking and action, ensures that we act rather than react, and consider other points of view when making decisions.

In the beginner's mind there are many oportunities.
In the expert's mind, there are few

Thank you Angel!!!!:rose:

That makes sense to me...I always consider the views of everyone around me when making decisions.

I googled :D.

This thread deserves to be on the front page at the top. Your artwork speaks volumes of your passion and soul Shin. :rose:

Nice work indeed. Thanks, Angel, for leading me here.

The b&w1 reminded me of Cecil Beaton's drawings/design for the film "My Fair Lady"--he did the costumes and set design.

I've just been through all of your work you've posted here and am very excited you came to lit to share your work. I love your abstracts, and your women are so amazing. I think I should mention that I love your bare naked body too. :)

Thank you Angel for linking this over to the GB. :rose:

My favorite is the one titled 'Spirit'.

I'm speechless.

shingen, I had a little time to kill this morning and so I decided to look through a few pic threads because I seldom do. I came to yours first, and now, I can't leave! I'm going to be late because now I can't stop clicking!:D

I haven't gotten far because I find it hard to close out each pic long enough to open the next one...Kate just blew me away. And the one in black and yellow, and the wall portrait...and...well. you get the picture.:) I'm just breathless, and I will be back to finish this thread as soon as I can.

Kudos!:rose:

lke...thank you so much sweetie!

kotori...thanks for visiting and for the quick lesson on Cecil Beaton.

Angel...you're the bestest! Thanks for supporting me.

Starfish...Spirit is one of my favorites. It's hanging in my bedroom. As you can see, Japanese culture has a strong influence on my abstract art.

intrigued...thank you for visiting and I'm glad you enjoy my art. Check back often since I add more pics everyday.

Okej I'm going to post some abstract pics next....

The next one is another from my Abstract Angel series...

Here is one titled "Nanaimo." Any of you from the BC area in Canada might recognize the name.

When you travel up there you need to take ferries from Vancouver to Vancouver Island. I took the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. I remember how damp and rainy it was when we landed there. But the drive up north towards Courtenay was beautiful nevertheless.
