And you're welcome. The 401(k) and pension info was all very basic to anyone with a financial background, but isn't something that most working people understand right away. Companies do a terrible job of explaining to employees in lay terms what the plans are! Clear education in simple terms would help more employees make better choices for their investments. But that's a whole different topic.

Glad to see you back. It may be on another thread, but how did you get back here after the parents vetoed the internet for you?

I think the problem is that it's people in human resourses that are doing the explaining and as a rule these people don't know what the hell they're doing. That's only my theory, I'm certain there are human resourse people who are capable, however, I haven't met any yet.

You may be correct on the HR explanation thing, too. We have someone who is supposed to be the employee benefits manager and she doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground. That is being polite, too.
