i know i might be accused of being sick here :) ... but i actually found myself being quite turned on after reading this the other night ... nothing sexual about the characters at all

but just the clever word plays and exploring a new world that seem to slide from one fantastic place to another seamlessly with every rule being thrown out the window in the search for painting a fantastical painting of words ... i didn't mean to but i actually found that very enticing :)

on to reading through the looking glass now :)

I always thought the book was more of a testament to illicit drug use myself.

wow rambling have you been reading over my shoulder :) this is where my bookmark is at the moment

Jabberwocky
-By Lewis Carroll

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

`Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

`And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Calooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe

Lewis Carrol is on a few lists of known drug users. Supposedly, though not totally known, he actually did eat "shrooms."

It is known that Lewis Carrol was tormented with headaches, psychotic episodes, and hallucinations. Maybe Through the Looking Glass came from one of them as well?

its probably true that he did take drugs but i dont think his book is just a drug trip its just written amazingly

BE-WARE of the MAD HATTER.
that heated mercury,,is better than crack.
fav :)

This book has been turned into a porn twice, and a live sexual, theater production.

Yes, the drug and sexual overtones are there.

Didn't Carroll have a sexual relationship with Alice?

O frabjous day! Calooh! Callay!'

Another convert.

I guess I have always been addicted to imaginary worlds. The malign influence of having been a bookworm since childhood.

did you go to the link and download the PureVoice Player?

did you unzip it?

those two things are needed to hear it.

Nothing else will play a .qcp file aside from the PureVoice Player.

Its free and small

It was me reciting Jabberwockey on my pseudo Canadian british accent.

cool thanks todd ... i'll download it now and try and listen to it when i've fixed my computer ... my computer keeps crashing with the sound card in but when i take it out it runs ok i think ... haven't figured out why yet :(

our Prof used to say we should only take drugs if we'd be sure that we could write as well as Carroll did. Needless to say I do not possess this talent.

lol true irish :)
