I am a third year psychology student doing my dissertation (a 10000 word document based on a study that i am doing). My dissertation is focused on homosexuality and attraction. I am doing a study that has only been done on heterosexuals on homosexuals in order to see whether the qualities that are considered attractive in each sex vary with sexual orientation!
I really need more homosexual participants, if you wouldnt mind taking five minutes to read the form below and print a name (or psyeudonym) and pm it to me.Then just let me know which figure you find most attractive on the other form below i would be forever grateful!

well considering labels confuse me more then anything
as a mtf transexual am i straight if i like women or am i gay. so easier for me to not respond at all!

I considered taking it, but I could barely see the figures as small as they were. They all looked kind of the same except ever so slowly going from skinny to not. I wished the figured had been a bit larger.

Regardless of who takes the test, I would think the results would be quite a variety. To me the ultimate is a hairy, muscular, stocky (not fat, not skinny) guy. However, there are lots of older gay guys that I know whom from my perspective are more interested in what I would consider the under age look -- slender, smooth, narrow shoulders. I don't know if it is due to pedophile tendencies, a longing for lost youth, or a need for something bordering on uni-sex or leaning towards female. It was never my interest, so I cannot explain it. I've known females who like muscular guys; I've known some that don't. Thus for myself I never found a comparison to my desires and a straight woman's desires. I have known that some women like a nice male ass, so do I. However, I'm not sure they have on their mind the same thing that I do when I see such a beautiful asset.

hey guys!
firstly it is not a study for homosexual guys only, i desperately need homosexual women too as i dont have enough for the study yet! Any help is greatly appreciated!
I totally appreciate that the labelling thing is very difficult, i personally am most comfortable with the label bi-curious for my own sexuality which some see as a cop out and which im still not sure totally describes me, but this is the best i can do!! if you are attracted to same sex people then you are applicable for the study.
Apologies for the quality of the pictures on the site, i had extreme trouble loading the file and couldnt get it on here as its too big! Trust me when i tell you there are differences between the figures, however i cannot tell you what these are yet as it would effect your answers if you decide to take part in the study, i shall explain all when i put the results up!
Lastly, i hope it doesnt smell bad, i am genuine but that you will have to take on trust as there is no way i can see to prove this! If you dont want to take part howeve i totally respect that!

P.S. i totally agree there is natural variation in attraction, i am basing my study on another study that was done on heterosexual attraction which suggested that there are particular optimally attractive figures for heterosexuals! i am trying to see if this theory can by applied to homosexuals too!

How do you propose to validate your study when your study participants are unknowns on the internet? Many respondents may not be homosexual, some may lie and others are simply going to try to invalidate your data sample.

Why is the release necessary? If it is an anonymous internet study, why do you need a signed or named release for the data? With the nature of several of the anti-homosexual trolls who have frequented this board in the past - few in the know will click your link - not wishing our IP address to be associated with this study.

You might do better to start a thread with a public poll and 8 or ten choices of body style, with attached pictures. That eliminates the suspicions of many and gathers the data with automated counters.

I think this study being conducted in an unscientific manner - one which would be unacceptable at university level.

Please explain?

The issue of false replies is one that occurs in real life as well as on the net, it is possible for ppl to lie to me face to face about their sexuality, atempt to falsify my data or to lie about their answers, unfortunately this is something i cannot toally irradicate. i agree the probability of this happening is more likely on the internet and to counter this i will get the largest sample possible in order to get rid of outlayers and possible false data. One of the other problems with getting any kind of homosexual sample is that people are extremely wary about admitting their sexuality and prefernces to a stranger - as you are, which is perfecty understandable but makes it very difficult to study!

The consent form is neccessary in any psychological study, it is neccessary to conform to the BPS guidelines and to ensure a study is ethical as it informs the participant of what the study is about, their related rights and the right to withdraw. I also need it to assure my tutors i have not made my data up - although obviously its possible to falsify them!

All i can say to this is that i personally have no idea how to retrieve your ip address, but again all i have to assure you of this is my own testimony, i respect totally your right not to take part and whatever reasons you have for that.

The main reason i havent done this though is because, as i mentioned earlier, i have been unable to attach the pictures here as they are too big even individually, i am going to ask a computer savvy friend to try for me but this could take a while as im not seeing her for a few weeks and i thought if i could gather data this way it would be quicker for now!

You are completely entitled to this opinion and your suspicions as i stated earlier i cannot concieve of a way to assure you of my genuine status, and be assured my tutors will be all too swift to call me up on any unscientific aspects of my study!

No i don't deny the existance of bisexuality or any other sexual orientation that isn't heterosexuality or homosexuality, i simply did not investigate these different dimentions of sexuality in this study
