What counts as interesting? I think I went to bed at like 11am, woke up at 5pm, now it's 6am and I'm not even sure what days are anymore.

Mind blown, I’m sure people have known about this for years but I was today years old when I learned Beyoncé cribbed her dance from these 1960’s ladies

Just got back from The Nutcracker. I'm always shocked when I find my backwards corner of the world does fine and performing arts quite well. Top-tier costumes, excellent ballet, and a full professional orchestra with exceptional musicians.

Kids even enjoyed it!

And it is now Sunday, my eldest is legally an adult now.

This is always so wonderful. To see a show and be reminded that art and dance can be magical no matter how small or backward your little corner may be.

It's a strange place, for sure. One of the top 5 orchestras in the US is within an hour. So is one of the largest Amish populations

My county is known for being mostly rural, but we have our own orchestra with talent the likes of people who have studied with Yo-Yo Ma. I'm in the chorus of this orchestra and we're able to pull in amazing guest artists as well. Our Spring Masterworks concert will feature a soprano that has sung in the Emirates King's palace and a baritone that has won Grammys.

Yes! I’ve given more than a few books as gifts to those I knew would be into them. I’m reminded of a convo I once had with former coworkers. One of them took pride in being “book auntie” and another always made sure she got her niblings 1) something to read (or something educational in general if they were too young to read), 2) something to wear, and 3) something to play with. I have…14 niblings and 2 great niblings now, so that’s out my price range, but that would be goals!
