CONDOMS MAKE GALS INTO MOOD SWINGERS
By BILL HOFFMANN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 20, 2002 -- Holy prophylactics! Women who have unprotected sex frequently are less likely to be depressed than those who do not, a new study claims.
Researchers at New York University say it's due to mood-changing chemicals that are transferred from the man.
Apparently, semen contains hormones and other chemicals that enter a woman's bloodstream and may act like an antidepressant.
The team of psychologists from the university logged the sexual activities and depression scores of 300 women. They found women who had sex without condoms were less depressed than both women who had protected sex and women who abstained.
They also discovered women who had unprotected sex became more depressed the longer they went without sex.
Women having unprotected sex were less likely to try to commit suicide, with only 4.5 percent trying to kill themselves, compared to 13.2 percent of women whose partners used condoms.
The research is being published today in the medical journal Archives of Sexual Behavior.
damn, now I REALLY need to get laid
Halo
