The Gazan’s are Palestinians. Egypt/Saudi/Jordan do not want them displaced from their land on principle. In any event, Israel are the occupying power and under international law have duties of care to the Palestinians.

This last six months, the mask has come off Israeli politics and it is abundantly clear that all they care about is the displacement and murder of the Palestinians. Hamas’ actions on 7 October 2023 were obviously awful, but it was the best excuse to do the most damage possible to the possibility of a Palestinian State living alongside Israel.

Even now, today, on the news, Smotric is calling for the safety of the violent settler groups and more settlements to be built on Palestinian land.

It’s a genocide. It has been for the last six months. Prior to that, it was a drawn out displacement and genocide.

Israel’s reputation is unlikely to recover now globally - the world sees their actions daily.

The “but Hamas” line of questioning is rooted in the idea that this is a fair war between two equal sides. It’s never been that.
