Maggie gave Eden a withering smile. It was the kind of smile you offered to someone you wanted to be friends with but dulled by the innate envy of thinking this friend had so much more going for them. "Hey, Eden. Sorry we hadn't have much time to talk." What else was Maggie going to say? Hi, sorry I've been avoiding you because I feel invisible when you're around.
To his credit, Glen moved around to kiss Maggie on the cheek and hand her a shopping basket that you could carry. "Be right back." He gestured for Eden to follow him towards the back of the SUV and checked to make sure Maggie was safely far enough away.
With his voice low Glen threw together his courage and finally said, "Look. I know things back at the motel were kind of tense. I... I might have said something? I mean... you're..." he couldn't help but let his eyes roam over Eden again, admiring all the womanly curves. "Well, you know. I just don't want Maggie to think anything... happened. Because it didn't! But I didn't want things to be weird with her or Daryl. You know?" He had that pained look he got when he tried to think too hard.
