Scroll up. Lmao

I'm having trouble with quoting at times.
I like my interpretation better. Besides, scrolling up is such hard work. I'd rather "scroll down"...
I almost always wake up before my alarm. 9 times out of 10. I overslept once when I was a kid, missed the bus and had to ride my bike 5 miles to school. I was very late. My dad was not happy. It never occurred to me to just skip school. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I was never a very late sleeper, even as a teen. My friends would all sleep until 10 or even noon, but I was usually up around 8 or even earlier, even (especially) in the summer (because the sun was up). As I became an adult and took on "grown up" responsibilities, I started setting the alarm for about 6am (5:45 for radio, 6 for buzzer). As with @MedicalMuse, I quickly becase accustomed to this and would wake - usually just moments - before the radio. By my 40's I could wake up at 6am, on the dot, no matter the circumstances (except perhaps jet lag, but even then).

I was (with one exception) always the first one up on Christmas morning. Both as a kid (once at like 3am, my dad was pissed...) and as an adult (once at 5am, Mrs. Sailor was not happy). I except I will still be the first up on Christmas morning this year.

This has been both a curse and a blessing. I have often enjoyed the quiet early morning while on vacation as my family slept. I like getting up and making them breakfast. It's kind of "my thing." I like getting a good start to the day, even if it's just a day of relaxation. (Gotta relax right, there should be a plan and a timeline, we should put it in a spreadsheet).

On the negative side it means that I have difficulty sleeping in. Even if I need it. If I stay up late, or if I am jet lagged (actually, not always a bad thing). Thankfully coffee exists.

Recently, I've been finding I can sleep in more. This first happened while we were living in England and especially while we were touring around Scotland late in the year. The sun didn't rise until after 8. It's happened on a few more vacations, and even some weekend days recently. It may be that I'm getting old. It may be that I'm finally relaxing and not feeling the pressure to "get things done." I'm not really sure, but I'm working on embracinging.

I managed to sleep in until almost 7 this AM. I then got up and made breakfast. Perhaps tomorrow. I'll do the same.

Merry Christmas everyone.

when I was a child I killed a spider, cos spiders are scary

I was then racked with such guilt over having killed this thing that I used my pocket money to buy a plastic spider from the corner shop as compensation

I still don’t understand what I was thinking
