How will Green Party candidate Jill Stein benefit? There is no chance a recount will make any impact on her candidacy.
She has zero Electoral College votes.
If there are recounts in three states she has targeted, she will still have zero Electoral College votes.
What's the point?

Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday it will take part in efforts to push for recounts in several key states, joining with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who has raised millions of dollars to have votes counted again in Wisconsin.

Do not go gentle into that good night
Dylan Thomas, 1914 - 1953

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Some self-styled expert and partisan hack speculates that it might be possible to hack machine and goes on to give a really unlikely series of events on how that might happen.

He has no particular knowledge of the machines, their programming, or their software. He has not examined them in any way, he just says he's computer expert and that if he wanted to he could hack them.

It's so ridiculous that even the White House when asked to comment has said they've seen absolutely no evidence and there's no reason to believe that machines were hacked. But what is politico's headline?

"White House insists hackers did not sway election even as recount begins."

That is abysmal journalism. Nothing in the article suggests what the headline implies.

That headline presupposes the actual existence of hackers. That some sort of hack was done but it was simply insufficient to sway the election.

The desperation in the air tastes delicious.

If the Clintons had any class (fat chance, huh?) they would distance themselves from a recount and urge Stein to accept the results.

Not to mention consistency Clinton surrogate jumped all over any suggestion that Trump might not immediately accept the results of the election

Lets say Hillary won? Then what?

Democrats lost the Senate and House and about half of America would be too pissed to suffer her rule. She'd spend every dime there is to get anything done.

Had Stein sat out the election Hillary might be President.

Multiply 537 by 18 and you've got Trump's margin of victory in Michigan. Barring mischief, there is no way a margin like that can be overcome unless some ballots are somehow "found".

You can convince the right judge of anything and the right appeals court hands Hillary a win.

Glad to see that Hillary still has some of you scared shitless. :)

The day after Trump says he isn't going after Hillary, Hillary pulls this shit. Everything is always on the table and she knows it. Thus.

To be honest who in their right mind puts themselves on the Presidental ballot two thirds into the election? I mean honestly i would love to know who put these third party candidates up to this? And am i the only one that finds it a little suspicious a third party candidate managed to come up with necessary money for a recount so soon? Its like the dems are trying to create another florida recount situation. I bet if Hillary won from the start these third party candidates wouldn't make a peep.

Wow. That's why watching american politics is so appealing to many.

You guys are a neverending source of drama. Beats any reality show.

What's the point?
Certainly none in Pennsylvania. It's not possible to do a recount there because they don't have a paper audit trail.

Because she suspects something funyn went down and frankly Trump is likely to be a bad president but we have no clue. Is there any reason to doubt Stien is just a decent human being who has seen the exit polls and suspects something hinky went down?

The point I failed to make is that the person demanding a recount should have a legitimate personal stake in the outcome. No one can argue the Green Party will triumph over all odds with a recount.

That is abysmal reading comprehension. Of course hackers exist.
