My G/f, I know the score, but still I want to look better for her, her history is full of tall, muscled and skinny guys, I know shes with me, but I dont feel I measure up

First a question: Has she said she would like you thinner or are you putting thoughts in her head that don't exist?

Second, don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to her ex-boyfriends -- they are ex-boyfriends for a reason.

As others have said, get professional help in designing a diet and exercise program that fits you and your metabolism.

Talk to your G/F and ask her what she thinks about you starving yourself to death for her -- I'll bet that you'll be surprised at what she has to say if you'll let yourself listen to her and believe what she says.

Why are we all so obsessed by the way way we look? Aren't we lucky to be alive? Life is so short. Image is just image, perception is who we are. If we all looked the same what would the world come too? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we are not the judge. Are you a kind giving person? Do you do the best you can? Then you are a wonderful human being! :)
Say, someone loves you and you have a horrific car crash but they love you anyway, does that mean less to them that you are injured/maimed/disfigured or have no influence at all?
No, no difference at all, because they TRULY love you.
Love, true love, has no rules, skinny, thin, wide or extra cuddly, just love, for who you are.

Please DONT TAKE so called "natural" weight loss things or carb cutters etc. I did this and think it actually brought on my diabetes....these are UNNATURAL for you body. If there truly was a pill that made people the "perfect" weight there would be no overweight people! THERE IS NO SUCH THING.

Men and women def lose weight differently. I am a woman, have been dieting all of my life. I am at my lowest right now and I am still too fat & it is going very slowly (I have to lose because of my diabetes). I hate excercise, but walk about 4-5 times a week. Now that it is getting cold am looking at joining the Y with my friend.

With all the nutritionists I have seen, I have heard alot of advice. I think 1 of the probs is your calorie intake (600) is too low. You should see someone about what is a good calorie intake for you, Preferably a Doctor or nutritionist. Also, you should eat many mini-meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism working constantly so it doesnt store your food as fat. Even if it is an apple, or some crackers and peanut butter. Its best to have your 3 meals and 2-3 snacks throughout the day. Of course all smaller portions. Also, I found no eating after 700pm or fat attaches itself to my ass, and my waist while I sleep...LOL. The new things I learned are working, a little slow for me as I do fall off and eat some bad things when stressed. but it is staying off and I am not yo-yo-ing anymore. I just have a long way to go...dont think I'll ever be thin :(

I agree with the others though, your size and weight sound ok to me...be sure you dont lose too much. Make sure its not your just your self-image or someone else making you feel like you need to lose. Just remember not to jeopardize your general health on a quest to be "thin". Good luck. I know its a struggle and a battle.

How is your blood pressure? Your colesterol? If they check out okay, then maybe you need to work on your body image. Talk to someone who can help.

Let someone who seriously cares for you tell you:

STOP that crap! You are one damn fine sexy piece of man!

OK - I would have to add A LOT more to that but that better is done in private, young man!! *putting on stern look* You better stay on the healthy side or you get on my wrong side .. and that is not a good place to be!

I know man :D, I take extra protien supliments and most of my cals come from that too...

If your diet is deficient in carbohydrates, your body will break your protein supplements down for its constituent carbohydrates, leaving you a diet deficient in both carbohydrate and protein.

Okay, guys at your suggestion I've put it up to 1200 cals a day I know I'm gonna put on flab, ick, I hit 200 pounds today, now I'm gonna work out harder and put on some proper muscle, I'm not happy about eating so much, but I like being 200 pounds!, but I think this will make you guys happy :D

Don't do it to make us happy, do it to be healthy and to make yourself happy, silly.

Mmmmm.. If my own happynes was my only concern then I would stil be vomiting in the toilet, not a good Idea I know, but it makes me feel better. (I know that its stupid but that dosent stop you guys from smoking or consuming coffe and soft drinks or drinking does it?)

*Standing for a high five*

Hell yeah, lilminx. I hear you. I hope Karmic does. There are way too many people worried about someone else's opinion.

Hey Bud, reread Debbiexxx's post and the rest from the start. There is some damn good advice there. I hate to say again what has been so well said. :)

Remember 9/11 and........

Body for Life. :)

Karmic :

Since you are concerned with changing your body , I think you should read a book called BODY FOR LIFE by Bill Phillips.

I know many people don't believe in such things but the book is very good and easy to read and its realistic when it comes to what you eat ..etc.

A female friend of mine tried it and we were all surprised by her. My friend not only lost weight but she firmed up and is toned.

I think you should go and check out the book and see for yourself.

Lots of luck and by the way your height and weight sound fine to me. :)
