How weird do people like their sexy aliens?

A little steampunk erotica. Lots of aphrodisiac type drugs to keep you going longer than possible.

I've made a story about hypnosis, now that you remind me. As others mentioned many stories here are formulaic. I take the challenge route, because I would like things to be plausible. That means trying very hard to come up with a valid reason.

In this case part curiosity from their studies in Psychology, as well as if it works they can relax from the hypnosis in the stressful period with exams. Of course it doesn't work, but they get in a routine as they do meditate, reducing stress.

Then one time it does work. Of course he won't abuse that sudden power. He also knows people don't so things during hypnosis that they don't want to. But could you maybe use some psychology to push them further? Where would it end? Soon it dissolves into more than he bargained for, to his guilty conscience.

It was never deemed enough for here, but maybe I should ask an editor for help.
You could post a new thread in the Story Ideas forum, and people could contribute suggestions about your story.

Then bravo for you. So many so-called "writers" here think that a description of fucking is a story. Yes, right. We need this argument to be shown up for the crap it is.

More is needed. A recognisable setting and people who have recognisable feelings and motivations. Not bizarre, far-away galaxies and tentacled monsters.

If you're talking hypnosis, then I see no reason why you can't eventually step outside of the received wisdom about it - i.e. that you can't oblige people to do what they don't want to - and go that one stage further into the unknown or the "surreal". Why not? The important thing is that you start or ground your plot in matters which people recognise as everyday reality. Where you end up is up up to you! But take your reader with you on that journey. Don't leave him/her floundering in other dimensions with weird creatures.

Hmm, it seems like you strolled into a thread I started seeking constructive feedback, just looking to argue 🫤

You could certainly make a thread of your own about the merits of strict reality vs. fantasy in erotica! But since fantasy and sci-fi was the whole premise of this topic, you just come off as a rude boor plopping down into someone's conversation, trying to be the center of attention šŸ™„

My apologies. Such was definitely not my aim... and if you knew my circumstances you would be aware that centre-of-attention status is distinctly not my aim in life...

... having said which, I stand by my contentions.

I'll leave you in peace to discuss your cuddly extraterrestrials...

Ok, so... Earlier this week some dumb spambot made a "Meet Local Ladies Tonight in Your Area" post in one of the other Lit forums. I joked about writing a story where someone actually responds to one of these spam messages, and it turns out to be from a horny alien who really speaks like that, weird grammar and vocabulary and Capitalizes Every Word For Some Reason.

And I thought that was pretty funny, so I spit out a few paragraphs:

And I still thought that was pretty funny, and a few other people gave some positive reactions to it, and now I kinda want to actually write it. I would probably start with a 750-Word Challenge story, just to get it out of my head. If I enjoyed it, I might write more. But here's my question for Story Ideas...

I love space opera sci-fi. Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect, Larry Niven's Ringworld books, Becky Chambers' Wayfarers books... I love reading about aliens that are extremely different from humans, different body shapes, different environments, different evolutionary paths...

So if I wrote this story, I don't want to just have a sexy human-looking lady with green skin. I think I want to get weird with it. But how weird can an alien be, and still be potentially sexy?

Some brief research into the Scifi and Non-Human genres turn up a lot of "Basically Human with minor differences," lots of "Basically furries, but in space," lots of "Tentacle Monsters Who Do What Tentacle Monsters Do," and... not a whole lot else! And that's cool and all, but I don't really want to write about any of those tropes.

I want to imagine something that evolved into sentient life that is not even remotely human, but that could still have its own standards of beauty and sexiness, ones that could still be recognizable and empathizable to humans, while still being distinctly alien. But I'm worried if I get too weird with it, nobody will want to read it

What do y'all think?

EDIT: For what it's worth, my 750-word story just published, Sexy Women In Your Area 😁

I'd love to hear how it lands for people, or if there's interest in more!
I have never really warmed to any of the sci fi stuff, but I liked your linked story. For me an alien in an erotic story would have to appear human, at least most of the time, maybe shape shifting for specific sexual activities. But, I am probably not your audience, so I defer to the sci fi enthusiasts. Reading this thread has opened my mind a bit and I have a story germinating in my kinky little brain... Think Bewitched meets Behind the Green Door...

Hi Penny. How about an alien that’s of course vastly different, maybe even revolting, but is able to read your mind and implant an erotic image of itself to your liking. This ugly alien has appendages that are vaguely similar to human appendages like breasts or cocks, but they need to be milked. The image in the human’s mind is that he/she is fondling another, beautiful human. The reality is far different….

Interesting... I think specifically for my Austin & Blue series, I don't like the idea of trickey or illusion or kind control.

It's a cool and creepy concept!

But for this series I'm thinking about it with an overarching theme of trying to find connection and understanding among vastly different species, classic Star Trek but with fuckin 🄰🤣

It’s been a while, and my memory may be hazy in regard to the particulars, but I remember in the classic Star Trek, every time Kirk met a pretty blue or green alien girl, the next scene he would be putting his boots back on after he fucked her. Never used a condom either….

You know, that's actually not true! People remember Captain Kirk as a space slut but for the most part he was a total professional, aside from briefly falling in love with a couple of human ladies šŸ˜…

Spock actually got more alien action than Kirk ever did 🤤🤤

I like my sexy aliens who are supportive of UBI, into hydrating and healthy relationships with eight hours of sleep every night.

Too unrealistic i suppose... :(
