It's been wonderful reading all the posts on this thread,but also it's been very scary.... I had no idea so many have had this horrible thing happening to them. My heart goes out to you all.

I guess I am also among those who don't really know anyone/many that has been raped, or perhaps they haven't told me...

I know for sure of one girl who lost her virginity in a gang rape at the age of 10 or something. I don't even want to think what she's gone through, but she's a wonderful strong person. Her survival instinct can be sensed as soon as she enters a room.

All of you out there, just take care of yourselves.

i recently found out my mother was raped when she was young , and one of my friends was raped and had a child by it makes me angry that there are people like that in the world, but then i accepted that the world is pretty fucked up and there isnt a lot i can do about it

You can do something about it. You are changing things by even posting about rape. Let people who are joking about it, such as "She was asking for it" or "She could have fought" know that you feel that those types of comments are not acceptable. Social change is only brought about by people talking about topics that are stigmatized. *getting off of soap box*

Check out the "It Just Fucking AMazes Me" thread in this forum... it's overwhelming how many of the ladies on these boards alone have been assaulted.

Since this has come up again, I have to ask. Where is the the thread that vixen is referring to? I can't find it, nor can I find another rape thread that I once posted my story to. I saved a link to that one:
