Just for clarification, I think I get what you are describing, but I can see where a catch-all term like cum can create some confusion too. After all, it can be a verb or a noun, a nickname, an emotion, an event, heck, even an argument (“cum” or “come”)
So…. Based on your post, I believe there are erections, and there is sexual intercourse. So we’ve gotten that far.
As far as not cumming: Is it (a) nothing ejaculation related whatsoever, no throbbing or pulsating, no semen exiting the penis, nothing at all; (a.1) feeling sensations like it’ll happen, but nonetheless, nothing at all ends up happening, (b) the physical motions of ejaculating, (throbbing, spasms, pulsations, twitches, etc.) but no ejaculate (cum the noun, the slippery white substance) exiting the penis (c) the physical motions (see above) but far less semen exits the building than in the good old days?
Or (d) something else?
It’ll help us understand better, even if it doesn’t lead to better answers. (I predict (shocked it hasn’t been said already actually) that the next suggestion will rhyme with “pie-dration.” But that won’t be the answer either.
Some age related questions, sad to say, don’t have answers other than “we’re getting older.” I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t all fight to keep age at bay, but denial/pretending aging doesn’t exist isn’t the answer, nor would falling prey to medical quackery.
How long between “usages?” A science experiment similar to that already mentioned might be worthwhile: does a little extra time between events make any difference? How about More sleep? Less alcohol? Starting earlier? More imagining her best friend Sally?
