Purse Posse! Bag People!

I can't believe you showed everybody your stash...and fat quarters.

;)

You mean one little corner of my "stash"???? I have two rooms of stash -- not counting the boxes in bookcases down the hallway -- all color coded of course. *nods*

Wanna enlighten me?

One-fourth yard cut of fabric that usually measures 18" x 22" instead of the typical 9" x 42" quarter-yard cut.

It is cut that way for quilters to make better use of all the fabric. Less waste.

Now they're making fat eights as well, but don't tell Bluebie. It'll make his head hurt.

nice bag, nice stash, too.

I would have slightly wider straps, my bag is always sliding down off my shoulder. Because I stuff it with the supplies for the day at work... way too many books, scissors, crayons and such.

Its scary how much of that fabric I had a hand in picking out. Petey would be so proud of me.

I actually know what a fat quarter is. That bothers me for some reason.
Only a select group of women will allow you to use the term around them...without it getting you slugged. :D

Tort was taken on his first quilt shop excursion in Hawaii. He may need your support.

No, I wouldn't be surprised.

I ought to make him meet me in a fabric store instead of a coffee shop... yeah.

I have been to many quiting expeditions. I have also been to the worlds largest quit fair 2 years running.

If he reads this he will hate me won't he?

Had I been working with cotton, these straps would have been wider -- with the same measurements that I cut this linen. I didn't take into account how the thickness would affect it and also had to allow for extra to tuck in and sew down to prevent ravelling. Therefore, ended up with 1" straps instead of 2". They are nice and thick though. They didn't need any padding, and they're sewn 6 times on each I think. They're not going anywhere.

But since I cut them out that size, I had to use them. This fabric was too expensive to waste. Oh well.

*makes note* wider straps.

I admire the linen, sturdy good choice.

Actually when I read Bluebie's post about knowing what a fat quarter is, I flashed to his *very pained* face pacing & smoking outside a quilt shop in Austin. Pacing. Waiting for me. (no pressure....right)

*laughs*

Now it's really just better if I drop him off to do his music stuff and THEN I go explore fabric shops. There are some really neat ones in Austin.

I usually do pretty well.

Your studio looks so amazingly neat, are you a quilter or something? ;)
I can't even take pictures in mine.

The bag/purse is very nice! I love the purseket thing inside, is it removable? A zipper ed or velcro pocket inside would be a good addition.

Maybe it needs some umphf! maybe a bit of trim around the top, pulling out one the colors in the print, or piping? Its nice but it doesn't pull me in and say "buy me, take me home, love me" Up here it would be fine, but in Texas I think it needs a stronger statement or something.

Hey someplace?

Build in a matching holster for a small 38 cal. revolver with concealing flap.

Call it the Texas model.
