This is a little poem I posted on Lust's site......I continue to pray daily for both our active soldiers and our veterans.

An Ocean Away...A World Apart

The call came in the middle of the night,
The call to duty, the call to fight.
He packed his bag, ready to depart.
Just an ocean away, yet a world apart.

The comforts of his homelife would soon be gone,
Traded for a life in the hot, dusty sand.
Family and friends he left behind,
To protect their freedom and homeland.

The final day came, a day of fate.
He and his comrades fell.
An innocent child, a car, a bomb,
In a moment, a living hell.

He bravely died doing what he was born to do,
Performing his duty with all his heart.
Protecting those he cherished and loved,
Just an ocean away, yet a world apart.
