Poor belle. Magpies can be vicious.

hmm these one's really scared her,, :( they sit on the back verandah waiting for Jett to go so they can eat his dry food, and she is such a scardy cat it took 6 months for her to go out in the first place, now i thinks she will stay inside for good, but she is happy looking out the windows

i loved seeing the pics of everyones pets. :catroar: serijules, your bird sounds amazing :) i saw a documentary on animal planet a few weeks ago-(this is off topic but whatever). this woman had a parrot, she'd had it for a while and it knew tons of words. the researcher took her downstairs, where the bird couldnt see her, and showed her a bunch of different pictures-and the bird seemed to know at least some of the pics, even tho he'd nver seen them before. the show was about telepathy in animals btw. for example, she looked at a photo of a woman sticking her head out of a car window, and the bird (upstairs, being filmed with a hidden camera) said "ohh cool, you got your head out the window..pretty!"). it was TRIPPY, but cool :)

heres my kitty cat Wonton. he was a stray found by accident-i took him home cuz he was hungry and crying and skinny, planning to take him to a shelter the next day, but i just couldnt do it..i just couldnt give him up. had him 2 years + now :)

ps-i just got a new digicam so i'm happy to find a pet pic posting thread :D

"i know you just got a new Cybershot, but do you REALLY have to keep waking me up to take pics??"

Just a drive by to post the puppies

Hey everybody!

One of my hobbies is fostering underage puppies for the Humane Society and the RSPCA. Last night the RSPCA vet called and told me they had 3 newborn orphans and no nursing mummy to put them with. So now I have these sweeties in a box in front of my fireplace. My cats are in the box right now, doing the SuperNanny thing and Morgaine, my puppy is dozing next to the box, doing the guard dog thing. Here's the picture the vet took this morning for their "before" shots. (We'll do an "after" shot when they're big enough to adopt.) ;)

The brindle one at the top is a little boy. The black one in the middle and the brindle one at the bottom with the paw poking out are girls. Their mum was a beagle mix and the dad was a ship that passed in the night...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo I want them!

It's hard, but I know if we didn't do it, they'd be put down. I'd rather deal with some mopeyness then that.

Incidently, that's why I have Morgaine. I brought my Fuzzy Guys (the cats) over from Ireland, and then we found two puppies in the ditch last winter in front of my house. So we took them in, raised them, and adopted them out. I was cool, but my guys were depressed. I mean, really depressed. Marcel started overgrooming himself and everything.

I signed up officially as a foster parent and got trained, and I had decided that I would keep one of our first official litter so that the Guys wouldn't mope. It worked. They were fine when Morgaine's brothers went to be adopted.

They are so lovely, being a foster mum for them must be hard work though.

I think your story abour adopting ebcause the cats very moping shows what a seriously big softie you are

:rose:

:)

Thank you shy! I'm a big old mushy softy when it comes to kids and animals...

Why does the title of this thread make me want to post a picture of my girl? She is actually my little girl and not a pet but still...

I have two carpet sharks....aka ferrets :)

Tievan is our old lady at nearly 7 years old. She was once an extremely dark sable who began turning grey nearly 2 years ago. Her fur has thinned considerably but she's still a feisty little girl. She weighs in at only 1.5 pounds but is most definitely queen of all she surveys.

Our other ferret is Asmodeus, demon of mischief. He's approximately 4 years old, an albino, and a rescue (which explains the uncertainty on his age). His owner didn't want to take -any- of their pets with them when they moved, citing the hassle of driving from AL to TX as being too far to travel with pets. As we'd recently moved from TX to AL, he got no sympathy from me, but I was happy to take the little furbaby off his hands. Asmodeus is a talker, chattering when he's excited or especially happy, and is a big boy weighing in at nearly 3 pounds. He still gets his butt kicked regularly by the queen, Tievan :D

We used to have a ferret, Khristina, but she got out when the kids left open the screen door. I dont' know where she went, but I suspect someone took her, cause I never found her body and the neighbor with the chickens never saw her. If she was around he would have.
