Post-Chicago letdown

I'm a bit down, too. I blame a combination of several (fun!) days with not enough sleep, and blah rainy weather today. Rainy gray weather always affects me negatively -- if it's gotta rain, why can it be a nice, dangerous-looking, lights-going-on-and-off electrical storm?

Yes.

I'm having these weird worries and concerns that I probably shouldn't be having, but my mind is just fucked up that way. Instead of just enjoying everything that happened, I'm doubting myself, I'm thinking that I got so much more than I gave and looked like a big egoist, and I'm worried that some of the people I was with might not have ended up enjoying themselves.

My mind just does that. It can't let go and just focus on the positive things, although there were so many.

I did tell a (real-life) friend about some of the things I experienced this weekend, and the look on his face cheered me up quite a bit. :)

Oh sweetie, you sound so much like me :( I personally do not think you are egotistical, just beautiful and generous :rose:

You were wonderful! :rose:

I'm having the same feelings and worries you're having, though... that I monopolized attention, getting more than I gave. I also feel like I was an ass to a lot of people and worried that I pissed people off.

I'm feeling just generally unappealing today.

Wish I could share this weekend with someone other than my wife (and roommate, who isn't around), but we don't tend to have the sort of friends who would "get" things like this.

And you can stop with this too!! You did not monopolise attention, you were yourselves and that's what Lit is all about, IMHO.

I know we didn't get to talk much but I am really interested in "things" like that so pm me if you want another person to talk to. I could learn a lot.

I'm feeling that way too. It's almost a sense of loss. And of course, now that I've had time to think all the "what-ifs" are creeping into my head. Insecurity issues and all that.

As for feeling like attention was monopolized, I don't think either of you hogged the spotlight at all, at least, not from anybody who wanted it. For me, though, I worry that I may have stolen the attention of a few people away from others who may have wanted it. And I know that I ignored a few people who wanted more of my attention. I'd be surprised if there are any hard feelings, but it's still something I worry about. :(

Insecurity is an issue we all face at times.

It was a busy weekend, I know the feeling about wishing you had more time with people, a two night weekend is too short.

Watching you and the demonstration Saturday was incredible, a great learning experience, both personally and for my writing, and you are an incredibly beautiful person -- and that includes more than just physical beauty.

And if I got tired of it, there were other people, other places and I could have just moved to one of them. I chose to be where you were because it was an incredible experience and I was just glad you opted to let me and everyone else share in a moment that very easily could have been taken to a private room.

(((((((((((((nero)))))))))))

so well said hun!!

Oh btw, I have a wonderful pic of you and Wenchie from Sunday lunch. It is being given to pleaz to forward of course :D

I think todays gloomy rainy crap weather over a large chunk of the country has affected everyone ;)

Then again, I once ended up discussing my BDSM interests with two of the about-to-go-into-seminary religion majors during an abroad bible-related archeology summer class. They were quite interested and very non-judgmental. People will surprise you every once in a while. :)

Ah but then again, there is nothing in the Bible, Koran or Torah that is against BDSM. Nor against nudity in general. BSDM is not about sex but the sensations, pain, punishment etc. But then again, that is another discussion for another time. Thank you all for your sharing and open honesty this weekend. It was highly enjoyable to be around others who can talk about what you like/do without the judgement.

Wenchie
(and yes, getting up and going to work today was extremely hard to do. Between fatigue, the weather and not waking up to laughter in nearby rooms it's no wonder the Chicago Blues were present.

I thought it was pretty cool that you two were so comfortable being nude! I would have liked to do that also but being new and with not too many others taking advantage I was a bit shy. Maybe next year I will have the courage to do it.

 I want you to know you have NO reason to second guess yourself. I admire you. :rose:  ((((((HUGS)))))) Never ever ever ever regret what you experienced.

AvoidingRealWork... you were also fabulous. You and your wife made me think that one day I'll be comfortable in my own skin. :rose: Thank you for that.

I too am having Post-Chicago Letdown.

This morning I was so anxious and wanting to do something, anything so I didn't focus on all I had left behind, so I hauled the family out to a nature hike. We went to a park 4 hours away, had a picnic lunch did two trails, swung on swings and then had a great supper at a mom/pop joint in town, before heading back the 4 hour trip home.

Why, thank you. Being comfortable in your skin has nothing to do with shaping your skin to look like something you'd be comfortable with, I know that much.

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say. :rose: I hope someday you can take that step. Maybe at Chicago3. :D

Hope you get over your letdown as well. Rest well, Red.

Good night.

 Hmm... I don't know about 3. ;) Maybe I'll lose a top or something.

*baby steps* :eek::kiss:

You both are lovely people. Have a good rest when you get there.

I understand exactly what you mean. I only know a couple of people who would not look at me like a lunatic for even attempting to explain some of the things that went on... much less attempting to explain what exactly a Lit-together is in the first place.

I'm feeling really bummed. Low-energy. Sad.

My wife is flashing me. That helps.

Anyone else (Lit-togetherers or otherwise) feeling the blues today?

In a way, yeah.

Spent three days with the most incredible woman I've ever known, and now I'm home alone.

Blues . . . yeah. But they're only temporary.

I'm feeling that way too. It's almost a sense of loss. And of course, now that I've had time to think all the "what-ifs" are creeping into my head. (

I understand all the "what-if's". And you know where to find me to talk. ;)

Personally, I would like to thank everyone for the experience that I had over the weekend. I have never in my life felt so free to ask, talk, look, or joke about all the topics that were brought up. The blues that I feel are more along the lines that I felt so comfortable at the Lit-together that I want that to keep on going. (who knows, I might eventually build up a good tolerance to tequila - heh) Getting up and going to work on Sunday and Monday was brutal  - but as I drove to work I found myself thinking about all fun this weekend and that helped.

I must say this. I have rarely had a two day stretch where I was able to let loose of my real job so completely that I was able to relax as much as I did this past weekend. So if nothing else, I would like to thank you all for helping me re-charge my batteries.

I have a few regrets, but not many. I regret not having a chance to get to know a few of you better. I regret arriving late and missing the first party. I'm seriously saddened to not have the chance at the fabulous backrubs that Des was doling out. ;)

But on the other hand, I had a fantastic time. Often I found myself sitting back, listening, watching, soaking it all in. No matter what room I was in, the warmth and acceptance was nearly overwhelming. Every face wore a smile, every body was relaxed. The combination of good company, good food and wine was heady and incredibly healing.

I feel like my old self again. My batteries are recharged. My muse is whispering once more, and I have all of you to thank for that. It's been a long time since I've been able to let my hair down and let myself just be.

For all the friends I've met and all the kindness you've shown I don't have words adequate to express my emotions. I needed all that you offered and you gave without question.

I don't even mind that ARW kept trying to untie my sarong--and with some success... :D (I don't think anyone actually saw the exposure of my upper shelf ) The chocolate that he and Freckles gave me kept me happily blissful.

There is no let-down here. It's a renewal of spirit and I love you all.

I know I teased you about not letting me "rub" you, but trust me, I didn't feel ignored in the least. To be honest, I liked going back for seconds on Jen. She makes great noises while being massaged. I've dated women that didn't make that much noise during sex. ;)

I agree. I love wild thunderstorms, especially if I'm home and I can snuggle up under the blanket with S.

At school they're slightly less fun.

Good news and glad to hear it :D

I sooo wanted to be there and soo want to be there next year... sigh.

Hey, you guys were all great! Just exemplary. Except you forgot to take up that collection for my statue, remember? You don't remember signing that pledge? You were all pretty drunk, it's true. I thought bronze was a bit much anyhow. Marble would do. :D

I apologize to whoever it was's foot I was standing on for like ten minutes by the window in Wenchy's room. And I apologize for not taking my clothes off, but you know, I'd have to send you a bill if I did that. My union's very strict. Everyone was really great, and Wenchy taught me how to eat chocolate with cognac and how to tie purple nylon, and FieryJen was the surprise of the evening, I could go down and list everyone by name but I'd leave someone out and they'd be hurt, so I won't even try.

I wasn't there on Saturday so I missed the drawing. Who won the Lexus?

And that may just be the best result of the weekend of all! Gooooooooo Molly!

Well, I won't brag about the show that I got then... it was .... wonderful.

As I am primarily a photographer... I think I understand the concept of the muse in a mildly different way, and mine has been silent for many months. I have felt no inspiration whatsoever. This is the first week that I have really felt like taking pictures the way I used to, and even though I had some settings on my camera messed up - so quite a few pictures of Fieryjen are less than spectacular - in an artistic way, they are quite fantastic and so very well capture the flashes of emotion in the way her face lit up Saturday evening.

I sooo wanted to be there and soo want to be there next year... sigh.

So is there ever a European version? We appear to have lots of Brits in the forums and at least three of us in Germany. Why should they have all the fun?
