Polyamory Relationships

I could look this up, but I can't be arsed, so I'll admit to stupidity :D

What is a Polyamory Relationship? Something to do with the Teletubbies?
:D

I don't think they're either good or bad- it's all about the people within it and how they make it work, just like any other relationship. It's not for me, I do know that.

Being a polyamorist for over a decade, I guess I would say its for me.

Currently living in a committed quad (MFMF) and looking for more always.
Its not for everyone but them it is for - its hard work like any other relationship.

This is exactly right. The best thing about it is that there are no established rules and no 'right' way to run things--you avoid having people's assumptions about how things work ruining things.

The down side is that, since there are no established rules, everything has to be negotiated and renegotiated, and things change and evolve. Lots of big shocks can happen.

Always felt it is not long lasting - exceptions - as Greycrow - will be there but universally, if you look at it, you can see the failure rate is higher. I still believe that, having an FWB is wiser than having multiple partners and stay Polyamorist.

I honestly think it's really, really hard to establish that the failure rate is higher. The failure rate for traditional relationships is already astronomically high. Most poly people that I know are in very to extremely long-term relationships.

Yes, there are spectacular blow-ups, and when they happen, they involve several people.
