What makes me happy?

Happy can be so very vague......

I think how you handle life's little trials and tribulations determine how "happy" you are. For instance, do you get pissed off that you locked your keys in your car? Spilt coffee all over a brand new white shirt?

Or do you just roll with the punches? Deal with it and go on? Can you laugh at yourself?

I try to be easy going......roll with whatever happens to me, try to make a joke out of it if possible. My student's probably think I am nuts....oh well!!!! I can get them to laugh and loosen up ~ it is a good quality *I think* ~sorry for the rambling there~

Right this second, what makes me happy?

the moments i feel happiest i am usually in some kind of motion - i.e. in a train, in an airplane, in a car, on my bike. and usually going to a place i don't know yet, though there are exceptions... a kind of feeling of being between places, between two worlds, of having left the problems of where i was before and not yet having arrived at the problems of where i am going to. and thus of everything being possible.

i remember one of the first moments i was very aware of being happy was a flight from the US to Chile when I was 18... One of the most recent moments I was aware of being happy was when I visited the ruins of Pikillaqta near here and on the way back caught a bus and though it was pretty full I found a place on the floor to sit on and could still get a glimpse to the hills in the light of the sunset through the window...
