In an earlier thread I said I'd post some pics of my recent trip to the Ohio Reformatory at Mansfield, where several scenes of "The Shawshank Redemption" were shot. They retired the prison in 1990, and now it's privately funded and offers tours. It's a must for any serious fan of the movie!

Above we see the exterior of the prison, followed by 2 pics of the warden's office. In pic #3 you can see the hole in the wall where the warden's safe was (it was installed and then removed by the film makers).
The half-way house where Brooks and Red stayed after their release from prison is actually a room at the prison.
And the last pic is of Andy's escape tunnel, which is actually just a huge PVC pipe covered to look like dirt.
