Maybe this has been done before, but I can't find it (I did do a search), so I will ask, what are your irrational fears?

I will go first:

I have a fear of small crawly things (spiders, insects, etc.) on me.

I have a fear of snakes.

I have a fear of heights.

I have claustrophobia.

And yes, I am afraid of the dark (especially in my dreams).

None of these fears are uncontrollable, although the height phobia does cause problems when I climb antenna towers, and I think the snake/spider fear is a genetic human fear most people have.

Interestingly, my fear of heights is not really a problem on airplanes, unless there is a chance I could fall out. I would like to try hang-gliding and sky-diving sometime, but I probably would not enjoy rock climbing, even though I do enjoy climbing.

The only one I can think of that I have is commitment! :)

Actually, I'm editing this because I don't really think it's anything to smile about. I've been told that I am afraid of actually letting someone in and that I hide a lot of my innermost thoughts from others. And here I thought I was an open person. Oh well...

Well, heights, snakes, umm thunderstorms(sorta), although thats less now (thanks to an ex gf). But like you shy, I would like to learn to hangglide, and skydive, fly a plane, and would like to go up in a balloon sometime. It's not the fall I'm afraid of, It's that sudden stop at the bottom.

My worst fear is that something bad will happen to my children and I won't be able to protect them from it.

I have a thing about escalators. I'm always afraid my shoelace will get caught or something. If I HAVE to take one, it takes a few minutes to find the right step to get on.

have an intense fear of "bats...yes bats" i hate em cant stand em, other than that not much:D

When my daughter was young I had a nightmare that I witnessed her getting hit by a car and I woke up screaming in a cold sweat. I called my ex at 3 AM to make sure my daughter was okay (my ex is an insomniac).

I have twice witnessed kids get hit by cars, both times with serious head injuries - the last time I had to give the kid first aid, the first time I myself was just a kid. Both times the kid ran out in front of the car and that was my nightmare.

I cannot absolutely cannot, eat any meat off the bone.....No chicken legs or wings or ribs for me.....I actually gag at the thought................(I know what you are thinking perverts);) :p

I don't know is this a phobia? I freak out when i come in contact with someone else. If people touch me my body stiffens or shakes.
no sure what the hell that is about. sounds like a fear to me.

*shivers*

I'm afraid of

failure
crawling things
cows (considering I'm a country girl - this is strange)
large dogs
close spaces
the dark when I'm alone
manequins or life-like dolls

I too fear something will happen to my kids from which I cannot protect them. When my oldest daughter was five she was in a really awful car crash. She had to be med flighted and spent the first 24 hours afterward chemically paralyzed until they could be sure her spinal cord had not been damaged. She spent the next week in ICU.All totaled she had 5 skull fractures, two orbital fractures and 52 stiches. Amazingly, she is perfectly fine now except for some fears relating to travel.

So I guess my fears have, actually, to some extent happened.

OK, here's my list:

Rats/mice
Snakes
Spiders.crawly things
Heights (and that is a very real, irrational one)
Thunderstorms with lots of lightening and strong winds
Power outages/the dark (This one is only when I can't control the lights going off. Has to do with my impending blindness and my lack of control)

My fears i know of for sure are....

Scared of the Future (the unknown)
Scared of Quietness
Scared of Water
Scared of the supernatural (weather it exists of not)

Those are my known fears.

I'm terrified of being alone and the dark, I even sleep with a small lamp on. I also get really nervous in new situations but I don't know if that's considered a fear and I usually get over it pretty quickly.

I am scared of groups of little holes. Like bee hives and such.

I cannot figure out the why part.

I'm scared of clowns....fucking evil bastards! :D
Ever since I was young I just got freaked out by them.....and then I saw "It" and that didn't help at all....

Stop being so mean to yourself. I mean, you're an asshole but you don't have to keep telling us that everyday :p
