Philosophical Postings v. Mindless Drivel

I have earned a great many of my recents posts through mindless drivel and light-hearted banter. Upon occasion I will post to a thread regarding relationships, romance, love, which lube is better, etc. :D

That does not mean that I don't read the other stuff. Actually, I do. I find a great deal of the philosophical/political/current event threads to be informative and interesting. I just choose not to post there.

This is certainly an eclectic community and I see no reason why we can't get along harmoniously. .

I come to Lit. for the escape. . . .for some fun and to make new friends.

So, what is your preference, and why? And while you're at it, does the other stuff really bother you that much??

I don't know if I have a preference, I enjoy both nearly as equally. When I got on Lit tonight I scanned down the list of posts and read a few...I got the sense the mood was a bit serious, so I responded in kind.

But as the evening has gone one, things seem to be getting 'lighter'.

I guess what I 'm saying is, I try to follow along with the mood I sense out there.

That was my thought as well . . . .which is what prompted this thread. . .I couldn't find any mindless drivel. :D

I read and post on both.

Depending on my mood, I might post more on one than the other.

Lately, I seem to be posting on rather flip and flirtatious sorts of threads, but never let that fool you into thinking I don't use the gray matter on occasion!

:p

i read a wide variety of threads, but i usually only post to the lighter ones....i think it's because i like to focus on the positive side of most issues...or maybe i'm a huge flirt...who knows...? but...keep up the serious stuff...someone has to educate me.....

:p

Fun, fun, fun

If the mood strikes me and I have something to say, I'll post to a serious thread but I prefer fun stuff. I detest those flame threads that devolve into pissing contests.

Umm. . .Mensa. . .I've broken rule no. 2 (not tonight). . .

:D

I think I am very eclectic or catholic in my posts and preferences.

it's weird because so much of the mindless drivel is actually profound and so much of the political/philosophical stuff is mindless drivel.

The only thread on this entire board that is worth a fuck is my Pornstar ID thread.

FUCK..I've broken all three rules...

I post to the philosophical/political/current event threads and any thread that has to do with shaving. ;)

Sometimes I post to a few others, too.

It doesn't matter to me what other people post to. I try to avoid the threads I'm not interested in.

so which does this thread fall under?

And for the record, just because a post is short doesn't make it mindless drivel.

Nor does being mindless drivel make a post short.

Glad you like the product. I wonder if everyone wrote to the company and told them I hooked them on it, would I get a free lifetime supply????

This thread would fall under the third, though unmentioned, category of curious ponderings.

I would certainly agree with your last statement. . .I tend to write concisely in whatever kind of thread I'm posting to.

Preferences...

I enjoy the openness out here.

I always prefer folks to be honest with themselves but it's impossible to tell whether they are or are not. It seems that some folks are more willing to be honest and open out here than in the real world.

I enjoy meeting folks out here and would love to make friends but have connected with only one person so far. She and I became pretty good friends but haven't been in touch lately.

The only thing that really bothers me is how so many people seem to be bothered by so much. I just ignore those postings and go on to the next...

(still kinda bothers me though...)

Shit Riff, you always make me laugh. A truly great thread it is too.
