Is it normal for a little girl of age 3 or 4 to insist that she is a boy? To insist that you call her a "good boy" and not a "good girl?" To ask for a suit to wear for Christmas because she hates dresses?

If you really push her, she will admit she knows she is a girl and understands she doesn't have "boy parts." But she genuinely seems to want to be a boy!

No, I think, for that age, it's pretty normal. When my one son was 3 he really liked girl-stuff. Tea parties, dress-up clothes, ect. By the time he was nearly 5, he wouldn't be cought dead in his sisters tea party outfits. It had alot to so with going to school, seeing what other kids did. I did make sure he knew he was a boy, that being a girl would never be an option. Sounds like you're doing the right thing.

Clarification- this isn't my daughter, but my niece. I think she has inherited her daddy's wacky genes. He is crazy, literally.

Cheyenne , up to the age of 5 I didnt know I was a girl , I was born on a farm , raised as a boy , did boy "things " , lived on "cowboys and indians" , never had "girly" things , always in jeans or trousers , but when I went to school , I found out I was a girl , then changed .... So dont fret , she will change , I can assure you that ....I did !!!..........:)

Both my own sons went through the , " I want a dolly stage" , and tea party stages, so it is normal , OK .....:)

Little kids at that age go thru all kinds of fantasy things...does she have a brother? Is one of her best friends a boy? Sometimes, they wish for what they don't have...

buy her a suit....in pink! :)

She is an only child and will always be an only child. ALL of her friends are boys. She avoids the girls at daycare. Except one, I think. And she HATES pink- won't let it anywhere near her!

__ BUTT then again .....

Your kid may be as divinely inspired as We three, :p the UNHOLY trinidy. :D We BLESS our little lost lamb, :) and prey on you, ;) too, not to IGNORE  all the possibilities of leading a kinky crusade for salvation of this poor planet's pretty postior! ;)

Cheyenne,
I'm not a parent but I can speak from the psychological standpoint. I can agree with what's been said thus far. Only if the child's behavior has changed drastically in correlation with a trauma, would I worry. Gender identification is an important developmental phase in childhood. She may be an intelligent girl that has discovered how boys are treated differently. I would not worry.
Good luck!

Sex change operations

On a related note, I had this discussion with someone last night. It is an area I'm completely unfamiliar with and I was joking that Auntie Cheyenne will NOT pay for a sex-change operation if that ever shows up on a Christmas wish list from my niece. I was told that sex change operations are only in the direction from male to female, that no one has figured out how to do the operation to change female to male. True? False?

Cheyenne,

This is all perfectly normal for her to be acting this way. It's all a part of her growing up and deciding who and what she wants to be. Most, or all, children go through this and it has nothing to do with being an only child either. They take on the role of another child or even an animal they like or even look up to for one reason or another. She might not know why she does it, but in most cases the child takes on the traits or characteristics of that person or animal that they want for themselves.

It's like actors and actresses. They act because they can be themselves yet at the same time they are being someone entirely different.

Enjoy her and her different personalities. I think we could all use children as examples to be free and choose what they want to be and do. Children are truly amazing people.

Nope, no trauma. She has ALWAYS wanted to be a boy. Or at least said so from the time she could talk. My sister thinks it is because all her friends are boys and she wants to be just like them. I hope so.

Phalloplasty ( sp?). Relatively new but done.

Well I've raised (mostly) foru girls and its a thing that they seem to go through, in varying degrees. Swimmer was prolly the most into boy stuff, but I thought at the time it was because her three older sisters were trying to make a live doll out of her. They would dress her up in super frilly dresses and try to get her to conform to whatever they were playing at the time. By 3 she would only wear a dress on Sunday for church. By the time she started school, she was more into "girl" stuff.

Hmmmm... you may be right. One of her favorite games is to hide under the covers and purr, pretending to be my cat "Cheyenne."

__ Hey? As this was NOT fully covered in my lust instruction manual, "MY HOLY WORD" -

Ai has a l-o-n-g & VERY personal SEX-plaination for you on my own experiences being raised by my samurai father, who had wanted his firstborn to be a son & just said, "Cunt be helped. I'll raise her like one anyway." So that's how Ai got the traditional name of a Japanese feudal warrior Hero, Saimon no jo, actually entered on my honseki and . . . BUTT is there anyBODY in this thread who's failed to put me on IGNORE yet & wants to hear this TRUE life story from a samurai nymphomanic? Yes, VIRGIN-ears, there REALLY are such animals, people blessed with divine attacks of mania, like guess who, that express it sexually . . . ;)

Who, in the blue hell, are you, CHAT_SCAT?
And why are you talking to yourself?
Sorry, but you've made it quite obvious that you and Jesus Christ are the same person.

Uh, from the way you state the obvious as if it were an insight displaying your cleverness, GuyJD, may we deduce. . . Ah-hem, maybe I'd better leave this unfinished in the interest of better karma all around? ;)

Why exactly do you need to post under multiple names if we already know who you are?

_ Bless you, daughter. You ARE my Angel & I'm permoting you to the neXXXt circle UP_!

What a DIVINELY inspired question! ;)

Knowing you'll prefer my short answer: :)

Ai has multiple-personality character disorder, which, when ex-ASS-her baited by nerds teasing her for her poor innocent  flirting, and accelerated by her MANIC cycle's UPswing, :p can lead to all sorts of FUN :D and kinky games

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ;)

I think it is normal and harmless for that age. Now if she gets to the age of 17 and wants a sex change operation then I would worry.

Maybe she needs to be exposed to some girl friends.

A cat, huh?

We're seeing a side of Chey we never even knew existed. :p

I think it's probably part of fairly normal fantasy behavior. My granddaughter never pretended to be a boy that I remember but she was enamored with being a cat and then a dog for awhile.

Wht do you presume HE knows that?
