One of the best stories I've ever read here

@javmor79's Boomerang, just posted today. It's in LW (I know, I know), and there's no sex (I know, I know), but it is one of the best, most compact uses of storytelling I think I've ever read here. It's only 4K words, so a short read. Even if you're not a fan of the genre, I implore you, read it. It pissed me off that it was so good, because I'm not sure I could write anything as excellent.

I have to admit I am so discriminating towards short stories that I can't make myself read them. It is nice of you to promote other writers' stories like this though

4,000 words is not short for a short story. Most short story contests int the mainstream won't accept a story that long.

That was excellent. Some of it hits way too close to home. A good story should give an emotional response and this was a doozy. Great job.

I read that story when it posted and gave it a 4.

I read LW stories because that's where I like to post mine. It's nicely written and a somewhat unique perspective. But I'm not a fan of BTB, and that one just strikes me as a self-inflicted BTB story.

I prefer the "extra-marital FUN" stories, which are usually 1-bombed by the haters of fun sex.

This is the type of feedback we could use more of.

Promoting underserved narratives (non-sex) hidden/lost in a problematic category is worthy of kudos.

Some of my best reads here have been completely against my type. And boy do I know that " I... I... couldn't write that" feeling.

What @Lifestyle66 said. Personally, I think "Tina, thy name is hypocrisy," would have been a better end: Rather than karma running over her like a steamroller, I imagine it to be more, well, cruel, leaving her in the limbo between sympathy for her son and her own guilt.
