Depends on the atmosphere....if I am doing things for work most definitely, such confidence is very admirable amongst your customers. Who wants a business owner who isn't? On the personal side, one on one am very good, when I get into a crowd type setting I often find it is sometimes difficult to be this life of the party. I manage mind you, but from being a shy freshman in highschool who broke down into a sweat when I had to talk to a girl, to now striking up conversations in line at the bank, there is hardly a comparison. In fact most people who know me now, couldn't believe the opposite.

I am so much more confident about alot of things,but looks aint one of them.
In that respect,I have to admit that in real life,I believe my looks are not up to par.
Other than that,I know what I am good at.

I suspect that the answer is based on what component of their life that a person bases their self esteem quotient on. Looks, money, character, job, etc. As opposed to the esteem in which others may hold the person based on the same variables.
I try to stick with 'character' and I would rate myself highly in that respect. It is also the indice that I judge others by.

I'm more confident on the boards than I am in RL, only because I normally wouldn't talk to strangers about some of the things I say here.
