ok... so here's a pointless question

anyway... do the pets stay, go, are they forced out or what?
When we had a dog (or a couple of dogs, depending) they used to stare over the edge of the bed. It was either Bill Engvall or Jeff Foxworthy that had a bit of one of their acts commenting on the two EYES at the foot of the bed. i know that one well! :D

For the moment we just have a cat. She tends to either stay out of the room or come tearing through just to stick her claws in Hubby's ass. Because she can. (Yes, she takes after me.)

When I had my dog (miss her) she could have stayed if she wanted to, but I would make her stay on the floor until we were done. Most of the time she would leave and go sleep on the couch. It never bother either of us if she was in the same room. Even when we would get frisky in the livingroom she would just keep on doing what ever she was doing, usually sleeping.

i had to LMAO at this 'cause my first thought was that if it were me in that situation, i'd be depressed that i couldn't hold an audience. lol.

I have had the cat sit right between my shoulder blades in that unreachable spot.
You learn to adjust your strokes very quickly so as not to get clawed, not that I don`t mind a little scratching but preferably from my SO. :D

for some reason i (and apparently others too) find this very interesting. thanks for the responses and i hope they keep comin'.

i have a sort of follow up question too. for those of you with pets in your bed... have you ever had sex (of any kind) with them around? i don't mean this in a kinky way, but i know my dachshund wouldn't leave the bed when my G/F was around (back when we were together, of course) and we'd do our thing with him in another corner. i guess that sounds kinda sick but he never really moved from his spot... he was just a lump we watched out for.

anyway... do the pets stay, go, are they forced out or what?

Since my cat just sits on the foot of my bed I'll just let her stay there although we usually move around too much so she'll jump off the bed and find somewhere to lay on the floor...at my fb's house we kicked the cats off the bed, and they got pissed and started knocking things off his dresser hehe.

EJ, it may not be the subject matter, for me it is more a case of what it is not, more of the same old stuff.

Keep the questions coming. :D

thanks! lol... there's something about personal idiosyncracies that intrigue people for some reason. like, do you button your shirts from the bottom up, or from the top down? (not a real question, please don't respond... lol)

although, we COULD turn this thread into a whole SERIES of pointless questions. if anyone wants to post one, given the thread title, g'head and ask.

It's my very first post! :) Hi, everybody. This is a fun topic to jump in on....

I like wearing PJs, but my husband doesn't allow it, so I get into bed naked. He doesn't have many hard and fast 'rules', but that's one of them. Once he's finished with me and falls asleep, I put on PJs if I'm cold. He doesn't mind that if I'm truly cold, as long as I take them off immediately if he wakes up. I can't get away with it in the summer though. ;)

As for pets, we have a little dog who gets kicked off the bed during sex.

*giggles* I guess I never thought of it that way... OMG  what was I doing wrong......I have neither BF or dog any more..... I guess I'll just have to read Lit more and what more porn to get some advise. :p

:D :D

I love blankets...I love feeling the weight of soft blankets and quilts on top of me. However, I can't deal with sheets and blankets tucked in tightly at the bottom of the bed. My feet have to be free, and are usually uncovered by the blankets. Otherwise I feel completely claustrophobic.

I sleep on my side, two pillows for my head, and either another pillow or one of a variety of animals to hug. 300 thread count sheets at the minimum...

We got a kitten a couple months ago, and she generally sleeps next to me, usually by my feet, which she occasionally nibbles on.

My sweetie sleeps on both his back and his sides...alternating through the night. He cocoons himself up in his blanket, (we use 2 comforters, because he is a blanket stealer) with only his head exposed. He has a teddy bear from his childhood that he puts under his head, on top of his pillow. It's pretty cute. :)

I sleep with hubby, and no matter where we are or how the room's arranged, I have to sleep on the right side. 99% of the time I don't wear anything. Bedclothes:
A heated matress pad when it's cold
300+ tc, 100% cotton sheets
Velux blanket (if it's any other kind, I get rather anxious)
Non-down comforter with soft cotton duvet cover
Everything should be untucked, or I'll kick it all off
We have king sized blankets and comforters on a queen bed because we both like to have more than enough to roll up in and steal. :D
A memory foam pillow

I usually fall asleep with my husband talking about something complex or scientific, reading aloud, or listening to the tv for a few minutes. I like to be touching him in some way when I drift off.

"VELUX is the world’s leading manufacturer of roof windows and skylights with over 60 years’ experience of providing customers with daylight and fresh air."

This can`t be right.

LMAO!!!!!!!!

I sleep with my SO with me hogging the covers and lots of pillows. We do have a tabby but she doesn't sleep with us. Maybe it's because my SO tends to kick all over the place when he sleeps *lol*

I read many many years ago a study that concluded that the dominant partner in a relationship sleeps on the side of the bed closest to the door of the bedroom.
Supposedly, even if subconsciously, to protect the "weaker " member of the partnership from any intruders or whatever.

I guess the question is, does this study still hold up today?

Personally I think it is to get a clear run to the toilet.

I have slept both closest to and furthest away from the door, is this indicative of split personality

i don't know. Let me ask the voices in my head. :D

The clear run to the bathroom thing doesn't hold up in my relationship. i sleep next to the wall and have to crawl over Him every time i have to get up to go potty in the middle of the night. Either that or just shove Him off the bed.

this is an interesting point to ponder. however, if the study and your "toilet theory" happen to correlate, it suggests that the dominant partner is also the one with the weaker bladder... thus making that person inclined to piss themselves at the first sign of danger. of cousre, this could cause the potential attacker to freeze or laugh hysterically. in either case, they'd be momentarily incapacitated and easily subdued.

nature has indeed provided us with plenty of tools for self-preservation.

Ok now I`m pissing myself laughing, does that make me the dominant partner, or a potential attacker.

Yes!! :D

My hubby and I sleep nekkid, though we always have our robes right next to us in case the little ones need us at night. Right now we're sleeping on oh-not-so-sexy-but-very-warm flannel sheets, but we'll be breaking out the 400-count sheets very soon. We also have an electric blanket for when flannel just isn't warm enough.

All of our cats are outdoors. When my ex and I were married, we had two apartment kitties. He used to call one of them the "Intimacy Police" because, when we went to bed, she had this habit of trying to get between us whenever he'd try to hug me. When my ex would try to move her, she'd hiss and slap at him. Then she got moved no matter what!

I must say the post about weak bladders and so forth made me laugh until I had a headache and asthma attack. Thanks!

I almost always sleep alone (without a SO) - occassionally with one. Earlier tonight, I was a lucky enough girl to have gotten to cat nap between bouts of, ummm, awesome sex - so that was, of course, nude and touching.

I was at his place, but made him take the side of the bed away from the door. (One of my OCD quirks, I MUST be facing the door or I'll freak out!) He didn't like it too much because, not only did he not have his side of the bed, he also got the wet spot :D

At home, without my SO....it's generally a t-shirt and panties (because inevitably my son will crawl in some time in the middle of the night). As I said, ALWAYS facing the door - so dependant upon how the room is arranged at the time, it's left or right side.

Pillows - 4.....one really "mushy" one that I can't sleep without. Sheets which must be changed every other day (did I mention I'm a little OCD?). Bottom fitted sheet, top sheet tucked in at the foot and a down comforter. One leg out, the rest of my body covered except my head and the humidifier on (I miss my fish tank).

Dark, light.....My favorite past time other than sex is sleeping...I can do it anywhere, anytime....as long as I have something to cover up with (a MUST).

Hmmmm, I have too many musts....no wonder I'm still single. :(

i'm just wondering ('cause i have that kinda time) what people's sleeping habits are. what do you sleep with? SO? pet? stuffed animals? what do you wear? that kinda thing.

personally, being single, i sleep with my dachshund. strictly plutonic, of course. ;) i wear yer generic shorts/t-shirt combo.

one interesting quirk... i can't sleep unless the tv is on and it has to be on something that i WOULD watch if i WAS awake. and i have to have two pillows... one under my head and the other clutched to my chest (i'm such a baby).

I can upon this thread, and thought it was so cute. :)

Sleeping habits: I'm a night owl, and sometimes wish I wasn't. I may get to bed at 3am and wake at noon..missing the best part of the day, in my opinion. Also, when I get to bed, it usually takes me a while to doze off. My mind is always going a mile a minute.

What or who I sleep with: My SO on weekends, and during the week, I love to sleep with my teddy but he's lost at the moment. When it comes to having a dog in bed, I think it's better than any husband <chuckles> They don't argue much, and when you're done snuggling, you can tell them to go lay down on the floor. <chuckles more> Being serious, I love to have a dog in the bed. My SO has a huge one, and when I move in in June, I told him that he's going to join us..hehe. (nothing sick of course) My SO isn't too crazy about the idea of having animals in the bed, and thinks the dog is too old, and wont jump up. I betcha I get him to <smiles>

What I wear to bed: I love a long tee shirt. And I usually stealing my man's. I don't like locking the door at night (only if I'm making love) because I have children, and I'm afraid they might pop in. I do have a "few" sexy outfits, but I'm wondering why I even put them on for the time I do because they're ripped off in 5-10 minutes anyway :D

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Summer, Spring, Fall or Winter, I blast a fan in front of my face. It soothes me to sleep. I know, I'm an oddball <grins>

That was fun! Ciao!

What habits do you have that your SO or friends find really annoying?

I have been accused of over analysing things.

I wonder what she means by that, is she saying.............
