What are your opinions whether you're pro Obama or not? How should our government act from this point on?

Chinese leader Xi Jinping knows something Barack Obama doesn’t: America is finished. The U.S. economy is an ocean liner holed below the waterline. In the stateroom, the band plays on – but, on the bridge, the outcome is clear.

With the arguable exception of the late-era Soviet Union, America is sinking faster than any Great Power in history.

I think you may have mistaken an op-ed piece for actual news.

Instead of telling us to read something, explain it in your own words. If you cannot do that, you do not understand it. Anyone can find something on the internet that confirms what they believe in. Tossing links back and forth gets boring.

If I go to Wal-Mart and buy an American flag that was made in China, who gets my money - an American or a Chinese person?

If a person in China buys a China-made iPhone from the Apple store in Beijing, who gets his money - an American or a Chinese person?

Okay. Consider me informed.

Hey, it's not to say that the US doesn't have some serious issues, but basing the demise of the US economy on a historical analogy to the Ottoman Empire?

He also manages to ignore a number of structural issues whit China's economy, such as the serious geographical disparity of economic development, the fact the PRC has a massive issue with lacking a sustainable internal consumer market, the fact that the core of China's banking sector is decoupled from market reality, or that the PRC gov't still refuses to let the Yuan float freely on the international markets. Just to name a few.

So it is a more even playing field. I have a low tolerance for stress now, so I don't read as much (I outright avoid TV news, besides the weather) on global politics. I pay more attention to what is going on in my state. I used to campaign for politicians I like. I appreciate being informed. I retain information well in a classroom setting, so I have some knowledge of the South American situation.

Enough about me, your information has helped me feel a bit better. :D

You're welcome.

May I suggest the Economist as a news source? At the very least, the blogs & debate sections are clearly separated from their new articles.
