still totally unoficial since I coulda missed one or so...

The leader board has changed.


McKenna now leads with 4.80 and 91 votes for Private Property No Tresspassing
TxRad is in second with 4.73 and 60 votes for A Day Trip to the Beach
Bluefox has 4.71 with 143 votes for Mrs. Azaini and the lawnmower

Ya note I didn't say Bluefox was in third... that's cuz there is another story with the same score...MINE.... Airplanes aren't Supposed to Break is not to be found on a top list... but has 4.71 with 91 votes.

Godiva on the scooter has fallen to 4.69.

DAMN IT RF... if I come in 4th by 0.01 AGAIN (for the third time) I'm gonna be ..... congradulating the winners AGAIN...lmao

Since I got a couple of PM's asking how I done it... I'll tell all

1. I wound up in a wierd situation with nothing to do but listen to the damn radio (for those of ya who know... ya know this was a requirement and not a pleasure)

2. Get so damn bored ya got nuffin else to do but work through the damn lists.

3. Figure out which category each story is in.. and if it has a magic H.

4. Go to the top list and read the damn thing... all 7 pages and write down any scores you find.

5. Realize that
A. You might just miss the story you're looking for in the list when your eyes go buggy from all that looking.
B. Not all top lists are created equal and some stories that are in contention might not even make it.

So that's how ya do it. Don't expect me to do it again!

I did this last time and I swear to you, you won't even see me doing it this time.
When I post this story, I'm not even going to look at the score until the contest's over. Yeah, right, I wish.
Don't get your hopes up about last place, DP, my story continues to get more filthy, obscure and offensive as I go along.

wellll.. I'm not counting any chickens till the eggs all hatch.. but seems like my egg really stinks!!!!.... helllll.. I never had a story below 4.4 before... feels kinda good to finally lay a real egg!

Hell ya can't do good unless ya figure out what's bad...lol... and I may not win..(or lose whatever wining the worst is)... but I'll know I gave it a good go!

You might become the first Lit writer, living or dead, to finish a contest as both a winner and a loser. Oh, be still my beating heart.

I've steadily backed down into the lower regions of mediocrity: a score of 4.31 with 64 votes, 11000 views, and 8 PC's. By now the story is off the New List and there's already been a sweep so....

Maybe I'll be able to claim some sort of distinction for having one of the lowest scores ever recorded in Romance.

DP... To make it a little easier on your eyes... Check the date line for 06 and then anything after the 16th and then 05... it's faster that way too.....

I must admit I think that the story is better than that. Perhaps the category? I know that some readers in Mind Control think the category is "Non-Consent Lite" and I perhaps should have placed it in a different spot.

Methinks sir that all the voting is low.... not just on contest entries.... seems a lot of people are voting 4's with most voters hesitant to issue a 5 anymore.

And then some of ours are getting just what they deserve.

It is strange how low the scores are this time around. Let's face it, when Imp and Belegon have 4.29 scores and a short Romance of mine some of you claimed to have read w/o barfing has a 4.3, you know things are tough. No complaint from me, though. The PC's have been very kind and it's always fun BS'ing on the support thread.

I did a survey one time and by my VERY rough calculations, over half of all Lit stories have an "H". Assuming my figures are even close to being right (a huge leap of faith) that would mean having only 25% for contest entries is almost mind-boggling low.

ps: Okay, I just finished casting a few votes upon the contest waters and in the process, may have come up with another reason the scores are so low. While there are over 60 stories, they've been submitted by just 35 writers. Of those, only 10 or so are AH regulars. The result--very little vote swapping. rf

RF... while that is true... if you look at new submissions, not even 15% have magic H's.... methinks that shows a trend in voting.

Somehow when I origionally got on here I thought a 3 was average... a 4 meant a very good story and only the exceptional rated 5's.

It seems that NOW that is the case.

Traditionally, very good stories got 5's and getting such a score was no real thrill. NOW it seems that to get a 5 is an accomplishment. Perhaps that is the way it should be?

There's no one place to go. Getting the answer takes some digging in several places. You have to check the TOP LIST in each story's category. Since those lists only show the top 500 scores, those for some stories will be so low, mine for instance, they won't appear. However, high scores, such as those for DreamPilot's Romance category entry, McKenna's in Exhibitionist & Voyeur, and TxRad's in Erotic Couplings, are easy to spot.
