The Forrest service fought the wild fire to a standstill about sixty yards from my bedroom window when I was a kid.

They wanted us to evacuate out but we lived in a limestone house and had sprinkler hoses on the roof and two water hoses plus the forestry service was pumping water from our pond between our house and the fire.

That was a big ass fire! thousands of aces burned as well some of our land in the back but we made it.
