Now it's a waiting game. ...

Right, we have been ordered to evacuate by the police.
The animals are free (all gates are open) andthe kidlet and I are about to leave.

Wish us luck!

So you lost your animals because you couldn't stop posting on lit and looking at the firey thing?

WQ, I'm going to be kind.

Forest fires make a lot of smoke. Like, a LOT. They stink. They hurt your eyes and lungs if you're in them for too long. They even hurt your eyes and lungs if you're hundreds of miles from them along a distant valley or mountain pass. If they threaten your house, you know it before someone tells you to leave, because it's smoky and exceedingly unpleasant.

You're sitting out in front of your house on your tablet and phone, I'm going to go ahead and guess drink in hand, LOVING that you can say "A fire is really close to my house!! We may have to evacuate! We've done all we can, we have so much to lose! We're monitoring!"

But it's not and you're not. You may have some small fires close by, that part might be true. But your house isn't in danger, and you know it. If it were, you'd have your child miles away by now.

You just like the idea that you're in the epicenter of SOMETHING, even if you have to make the something up yourself.

It's dumb, but that's how it is.
You're too nice. Like a saint or something.

while i don't actively hope for your death, I also won't be torn up if you die. please add to your will that you leave your tattoo to me. Quickly. You know before the fire that you're live bloging about. gets to you

you don't have a live stock trailer to load them up.
Now who's the stupid cunt.
Rule 1on a farm are ranch always be able to move live stock on short notice.

you must be a city fella - back in my grandfathers younger days he generally had 50-75 head of cattle and could probably transport 2 of them, maybe four. Certainly not all of them. When he would sell them he'd call my (at one time) father in law to pick up in his large trailer, though obviously that didn't fit the entire herd. Not that he'd sell all of them in one go anyway.
My ex father in law has several large farms and hundreds of cattle and he does move them around, according to feeding/temperatures and calving times, etc. It would take a long time to round them all up and haul them, not to mention where to put them once hauled. Especially if dealing with a situation WQ describes, since most places wouldn't be safe close by.
then you'd have to consider feed/water and all the other little practicalities that most wouldn't consider.

Stuff city guys like you wouldn't understand, I'm sure. :)

I hate racists and homo phoebes, equally. I don't know if WQ is homophobic, but I do know that she's an admitted racist. That makes me disgusted and has me feeling sorry for any children she's in charge of that might possibly pass that onto.

However, having been through a horrific house fire myself 10 years ago I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy. I hope home and animals are safe, along with neighbors and those fighting the fires.

also, call someone responsible to come get your kid out of danger.

I'm not going to debate whether this is attention whoring or not. I don't care either way.

Now, regarding the quote, whether the majority of smoke reaches you or not depends on a lot of factors. If it's behind a hill it doesn't necessarily mean the wind is forcing the fire up it, so you don't know if smoke is being blown towards the house or not. Plus, even if the wind is going towards the house the smoke shouldn't really be able to reach it in all that great of amounts due to the hill.

Seeing as how recently some fires now under control burnt a lot of area nearby there should be some safe paths that opened up. Overall though, you should evacuate once the cops/firefighters tell you to or even suggest it. If they can guarantee a safe path to egress, then take it now before things get worse.

Never lived in a city
Noticed you said back in your grandfather's day guess what times have changed
53 foot trailer is what's used to day more cost effective.
Wq full of shit.
If she does have them she wouldn't be on line she would be plowing are making fire breaks on her land.

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I rather like "homo phoebe". It reminds me a girl in the mid '90s with a nose ring.

While times have changed I guarantee you that a lot of farmers/ranchers do not have trailers that big. I know that my ex father in law, who is still operating his farm/s does not.

Transport was only part of what I mentioned, but anywho.

Hi, Voodoo5150. I once made a thread I think you might like.

You're one of the very few people on here I don't currently despise but I have to say you've gone soft.

We all know I'd buy the gasoline to torch her hideous face and tat.

I'm waiting for the live blogging under evacuation orders to progress to videos. cause you know, there's time for that in a crisis like this.

Countdown to poppy's sister logging into her account to tell us she's in the hospital....3...2...

My kids are grown and gone. I'd have sent the wife off in her own vehicle.

I first fought wildfire in 1969 when I was just a kid.

Australian bushfires are beasts. Too many people who died in the 2009 fires thought they could stay and fight them but they were so wrong. I would never live in an area at risk of firing up over summer and I'm amazed that council planners allow houses to built in these areas without fire bunkers.

It also amazes me that people will live in these most fucking dumb places - ie: surrounded by eucalyptus forests. Then when fire eventually comes they put emergency service personnel lives at risk by staying behind and squirting the garden hose.

Look at all the fucking fire experts in this thread!

''I can see blue sky. That must mean there's no fire and I'm safe.''

I seem to recall that she got bitten by a snake once and bravely kept posting too:rolleyes:
