Hey, sexdude! Ewe sure got a purty mouth...heh, heh.

Oops! Wrong thread. Sorry. :)

She threw herself on the couch and ripped her clothes off screaming fuck me with your big fucking dick!!!! He jumped on her, squeezing her huge ass 49DDDD knockers and squeezing the nips. She came, pussy juice was everywhere. He stuck his dick in and started fucking it like a pro, driving that cock into her cunt like a jackhammer. She screamed, "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH I'M CUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMING!!!!!!!"

He yanked his dick out and sprayed his spooge all over her tits and face. She stuck her tongue out and tried to catch as much as she could before sucking his cock down her throat, moaning. She couldn't believe how hard his big fucking dick was.

So I should stick with that then? Lowest common denominator?

I don't use voting as the only indicator of my writing ability and I certainly don't use voting and "got any pics?" email as a method for judging my writing. sexdude is the perfect example of what I'm looking for. If I can write a story that can get him off despite the plot, character development, and extraneous verbiage (in his opinion) then perhaps the writing is good. It's not easy to crank someone's crankshaft when all they're looking for is a transcript for a bad fuck porn move. Jerk, get off, go watch the game. Anyway, that's my humble opinion, given with my usual arrogant literary minded conceit.

Deborah - "I'll never quit now because Expertise is on your side." --- I don't have a side. It’s not me against you - or me against anyone. As I said, I hope no one is tampering with the votes. If someone is then I hope Laurel can fix it.

Deborah also said: "I read some of Dillinger's stories. I think they suck. Just some same old same old. Not nearly the quality of some of the fine authors on this site."

And Passionee has said, regarding folks who frequent Literotica Chat - "Not all of them know the difference between a good story like DCL's Teaching Patti series, and amateur work by Dillinger."

As far as the quality of my writing - well, I think I covered that in my last post. But let me say again that it is subjective. That some of you don't like it is your prerogative.

And isn't it kind of mean spirited to knock other's tastes in what they like? I suspect that most people read the stories here for their sexual appeal. For truly great writing you might want to check out Project Gutenberg - http://www.gutenberg.net/ - compared to the authors that are represented at Project Gutenberg we are all amateurs.

I can understand anyone's frustration and concern over any tampering that may be happening. If it has been happening on my behalf then I am truly sorry for that and I hope that it stops and that Laurel can make any corrections that may be required.

Seems to me - based on today's top lists that a fair about of "correcting" is probably going on already. As WriterDom says: "Today the highest Big Dick story is 35th, and the next is 64th. Perhaps the sudden drop is due to all the attention, but I believe over time that all the quirks get worked out and things even out." I wouldn't be surprised if many of those here and their friends haven't gone in and voted my stories down. Well, if it turns out someone has been tampering with the voting, maybe that’s fair enough.

I'm just happy to have a place for my erotic writings to be posted and read by whoever might enjoy them. I've got enough stress in my life. I don't need more here. Writing these stories and having them made available online was just for fun. I hope they continue to do well and I hope that they do so on their own merit. But I am not going to stress out over who is number one in the rankings.

KillerMuffin said: “So, whoever is doing the kamikaze one voting against everyone who is a threat to Dillinger’s standing, you aren’t doing Dillinger any favors. And you aren’t helping Literotica at all.” --- I couldn’t agree more.

It's a BFD too! Big fuckin dick that never gets limp, squirts quarts of jizz on cue, and the mere sight of it can send women into multi-orgasmic fury!

I call it fuckin sis.

A BFD! You know, I've been asking Santa for one of those ever since I was a kid and the fat fuck has never delivered. Well, cornhole that jolly bastard, anyway (where's Deb when you need her?).

And the only creatures that go into multi-orgasmic fury when they see me are farm animals. But I got the quarts of jizz covered; the last time I had oral sex with Lamb Chop, I blew the back of her head off.

Oh, wait. This should go on the cartoon sex craving thread, shouldn't it?

I'm so confused. :)

Okay...since the thread has almost worn out...

LOL.

I would just like to say that I think we raised a pretty important issue with this thread. If Dillinger was or wasn't playing with votes, someone was. Deb's numbers prove that. And if it hadn't happened now, it would have doubtless happened at some point in the future.

So, there are some suggestions we've made that hopefully someone can think about to improve the system. Maybe tossing out the upper 20% and lower 20% of all votes. Maybe making the total number of votes higher in order to get on the top list.

Which reminds me...to counteract the problem of the older stories being excluded, is there anyway to say stories before the changeover have no minimum while new stories have to have 50 or so? Just a thought.

I don't think things have to be mean-spirited just because they are in discussion. And I don't think Deborah or the others were mean-spirited. We can't all be Emily Post. Some people express themselves with decisiveness and enthusiasm. I'm brash myself, like some others are, but if I were to issue a personal attack there would be no wondering. I don't know Deb well, but I think if she was REALLY out to get Dilinger, it wouldn't be near this tame. I don't see any of this as a personal attack. There was a suspiscious occurace, we talked about it. To pretend like it wasn't there...that's just plain silly.

To Dillinger and everyone else, you are right. You don't need the stress. Life is short - wear a cup to the game so that you can walk away when you take one in the nuts. How boring a world it would be if we pulled every punch. Just roll with it, baby.

And yeah, we're not writing Shakespeare here for this site, but some people are writing damn good stuff. KM is one of them. It doesn't all have to be high-brow erotica, but it doesn't all have to be hairy-palms delight either. The site had a good mix of both, I think. And, BTW Shakespeare was the smut of his time so project Guttenberg be damned...lol. All writers were amatures until they became the immortals. And even today they are debated.

BUT...and I say this WITHOUT trying to be mean-spirited...if I had to pick which of the stories would be worthy of debate in the future...Jessica's Big Dick or Stalking Tango....I don't think I'm alone in knowing KM gets the nod. JBD didn't leave me with any questions. It was, if nothing else, straightforward. Still, as we've said, not everyone wants to walk away with mental stimulation from one of the stories posted here.

Sexdude...I have no clue who you are, but what a RIOT!

But that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

Dillinger said, I wouldn't be surprised if many of those here and their friends haven't gone in and voted my stories down.

For the record, I would not even consider doing that. If I voted on your stories, it would only be after reading them, and even then they would have to truly be "Garbage," like it says on the voting window, for me to vote a one. I don't think your stuff is garbage, but I've only read part of JBDA part one.

And I sincerely hope that my friends have enough integrity and honor not to go and vote your stories down on my behalf or out of some misplaced sense of justice.

It appears that the blatant sabotage has ceased and the situation has corrected itself to a great extent in the past couple days.

This becomes even more of a significant issue because Laurel has said several times she and Manu want to give cash prizes or some such thing for the top stories at some point in the future.

Perhaps even a more pressing issue is how to prevent fraud on voting for the 2000 Lit awards. Obviously there are people who have multiple registered identities.

Hey everyone,

I don't have too much time online as I'm still on the road, but I just saw this thread and wanted to jump in and reiterate once again that the site is a work in progress. The voting area, like the rest of the site, is brand new and we have many improvements and additions in the works. Any specific suggestions from you guys and gals are appreciated. Just email 'em to me, as the cost of internet connection (and the piddly 33K connection speed I've got here) makes it difficult for me to check the BB right now.

We weren't able to move over the old voting results. It was not technically possible, unfortunately. To compensate, I plan on setting up a Hall of Fame for the top 100 or so stories from before the new script was implemented as soon as I get back home. (I planned on getting it up before I left, but ended up fighting fires at the last minute.) You all can help offset this by going back and voting on old stories you enjoyed. You can also offset it by VOTING, period. I've talked to quite a few authors lately who don't even read the new stories, much less vote. We get 100,000 unique visitors daily. I'd estimate that each new story gets read around 10,000-15,000 times a day. From that, you can see that the percentage of people voting is low. I'd encourage you to vote, and to encourage others to vote as well.

As far as fraud goes, I don't know if promoting your story to your friends is equivalent to fraud (though I think it's an even better idea to encourage your friends to read and vote on ALL stories). Multiple voting by a single user IS fraud. You've probably seen the "Member" option in the Top Lists area. You've probably noticed that it isn't functional right now. Currently, our programmer is working on urgent things (like making sure the site stays up 24/7 and other important stuff), but once that gets sorted out, the voting is our top priority. Once in place, the Members voting will be what counts in contests. No voting system is 100% fraud-proof, but the Member votes will be pretty damn near close. A member will only be able to vote once on any given story. We will also integrate other fraud prevention measures. It's all in the works, kids.

I think voting down stories deemed "unworthy" only serves to further skew the voting. It's also not a very nice thing to do. Rather, it may be a better idea to vote highly (and only once, lol) on stories you like. I will say, contrary to popular belief, that the current voting system as it stands is actually more secure than the previous one. You may notice that the voting is already starting to correct itself - "Teaching Patti" is high up, as are a couple of the other old faves. New faves will rank highly as well. All of the things you people are noticing now have always existed in the voting - you just weren't able to see them happen in real time. Once the Members voting option is in and perfect, it will be very fraud-proof.

However, that doesn't mean that the stories with the highest votes are "the best" stories on the site. It just means those are the stories that the people who've taken the time to vote have decided they liked the best. There are many stories I enjoy tremendously that never get in the top 100 or even 500. Art is subjective - what's crap to you may be gold to me. I'd also like to say that I don't consider voting to be the ultimate in feedback. Both the voting and the voting results are on the site by the request of our authors, but I personally don't believe that writing is a contest with first, second, and third place ribbons. I think that feedback via the Story Feedback forum and via emails from readers is much more helpful and accurate. So relax, everyone, and take the voting with a grain of salt. It's not there to get everyone upset. This is porn, remember? It's supposed to be fun. :)

I'll see you all in a couple of days. Hope you had a great New Years!

I wonder if we could have the number of views along with the votes. The same way the boards are set up.

That's on my list. I also want to organize the top lists so that they're easier to read. I'm gone again...if anyone else has any suggestions/comments, please email em to me!

Writer Dom,
I love your poetry, and when asked to vote, I assume (without looking at the score card) that 1 meant best, and 5 meant worst... so my vote for this was wrong and they won\'t let me change it... just wanted you to know that I love it... I love all your poetry... I send it to my friends (one in particular) because he looks at me the way you describe touching in your words.

This might be a rare error, but I've noticed on other sites where voting takes place in a similar 5 hole system each of the holes are labeled from 1 being lousy, or try harder, to fair (2) - good (3) - very good (4)- superb (5)

I wonder if a similar system would work better here. A score, say a 3, might mean something entirely different from one person to the next.

...and children starve and vital forests are denuded every day. Let me give my two cents at the end of a long, circular debate.

1. You can't judge votes by your emails. My latest story "Heatwave and Cola" has received 16 emails (13 glowing, 3 negative). However, this story has not registered a single vote when i check my profile.

2. I chat in an average joe chat room on excite. Because i am in Australia, the room i chat in mostly contains shift workers from factories, truckers etc. from the States who keep the same hours as i do. They read on literotica ( because i tell them to!!!) but they don't like my stories. Too much Shakespeare they tell me. They LOVE Dillinger's stories initially because of the title which i think would encourage more than an average number of readers. I cringe to admit it, but they just can't read enough about one bloke, two girls and big dicks. The other story they REALLY liked recently was THE INTRUDER (a Christmas Story) which i don't think even made the lists.

3. Finally, let's just be happy. It really is the new millennium now, we love to read and write stories and at least Dillinger isn't out there rigging votes in the U.S. election (oooopppps..he couldn't be - could he?)

my post had nothing to do with judging anything by emails, but that's ok

Sorry WriterDom, I wasn't directly replying to you. A lot of the arguments in here have centred on the fact that people received positive emails and in the same sequence of time, lousy scores. I was simply pointing out that you cannot assume that the same people who email you are the ones who vote.

My other points were to indicate that the types of stories we as writers appreciate are not necessarily the choice of our readers. :)

no problem, crazy.. I think the form is a little confusing for 1st time voters. (worst) is left of the 1st circle, and (best) is no where near the 5th hole, but further left and down from (worst)

Still have Questions about Nominations

As reader who has read and voted on a large number of the stories at this site, I still do not understand why all the previous voting is being discarded? Why throw out all the votes on the stories and vote again? There is no way I could re-read and re-vote on the last 12 months worth of stories, and some of them are very good works. How do other readers and authors view this process? Some of the earlier voting is more accurate due to less loading of ‘one’s’ on the better stories.

If I have this all wrong again someone please fill me in. I’m feeling like ten or eleven months of my faithfully voting has gone down the drain.

That's an easy one Fred. It's not being discarded. They just haven't figured out how to merge it with the new scripts, when they do your votes will be right where they belong.

The nominations are just for the literotica awards, to give a best of the best as chosen by the readership. This is why it is so important you nominate your favorites. I wish more people would nominate, to make it a much better, more widely chosen award.

All of the votes prior to the intalation of the scripts were in a format that couldn't be transferred to the new database. I'm not quite sure exactly why that is the case, but I'll take Laurel's statement that it is so.

It's a shame really that there isn't some way to convert them. However, I'd rather abandon them than stay with a system that wasn't working to get the stories posted in a timely manner. The site needed the new scripts more than it needed the old vote totals preserved.

Your votes werent' really wasted before the change, but they weren't really all that useful as feedback to the authors either. Laurel was the only one who could access them, and her manual updates to the top stories list were the only way the authors got clue about them.

The new system will take a while to catch up with the older stories as people go back to re-read favorites or check out what other stories an author they like has available. Some may never get any votes under the new system becuase they aren't memorable enough to re-read, or the author isn't posting here any more.

That's not fair, but then neither is life. Stories which deserve more attention will eventually get noticed, and stories that don't will fade into total obscurity, gathering cyber-dust.

The changeover to the new system wasn't fast, and it wasn't perfect. However, it did need to be done to maintain the site's quality. The loss of a few old votes is a small price to pay.

thanks again!

Thanks Muffin! I never seem to understand how this all works around here. Your help is appreciated. Will the old votes be introduced in time to affect the out come of the final tally? I would like to think I helped the writers with useful feedback. I guess I'm just the average Joe you people write the stories for.

ok

thanks Weird Harold, I understand this better now. I does seem a shame about the old votes. In some way they may have been very accurate since not many people had been voting down the stories then. I remember the top twenty never seemed to change.

From what I've been given to understand, the voting on the stories doesn't have much to do with the final tally. First, the stories are nominated on the board. The stories with the highest nomination numbers are then presented to the site to be voted on, storyside, not on the boards themselves. So, all those old votes were merely for the author's benefit. The nominations are for the readers.
