For example, my "I tremble..." illustrated poem has 20 votes and a rating of 4.45 right now.

That means that the total of all votes is 89, since 89/20=4.45

If my 21st vote brings the average to 4.29, I know it was a 1, because 89+1=90 and 90/21=4.29

If that 21st vote brings the average to 4.48, I know it was a 5, because 89+5=84 and 84/21=4.48

There.

What rate brings it to hot? I have two at hot - one has a 4.58 the other has a 4.60...I have another at 4.50 but that is not rated hot? Is it over 4.55??

Now, would this be the pale, washed out colour Crayola tries to claim is pink...the stronger shade from the girls' powders and bath products like Avon's Sweet Honesty...the hearty pink one finds in a bottle of Pepto-Bismol (or the similar, but subtly different hue associated with all things Barbie)....

....or would this be the hot pink bordering on Day-Glo that practically screams "strip me and take me now!"?

So, what was high school really like for you?

Honestly, high school sucked for pretty much all of the time from junior through senior high. It had it's moments, like anything does, but if I'd had more faith in myself...and knowledge of the choices that were/are out there...I'd have dropped out at 16, taken the GED, gone to college early (or, if I had the info I have now, gone to a 3 or 4 year hitch in the military to learn something to put to use in making ends meet while I was in college with the money from the special programs the have in the service.)


There are days when I count myself lucky I didn't have access to some of the things kids can get their hands on these days. I'd have whittle down the surplus population of assholes, bullies, and those who followed/worshipped them quite a bit, given half the chance to do so.

No, I don't think so..It's been there for maybe a day....Which is why I questioned it here...I figured at some point close to 4.60 it has to be rated H since my other two were rated hot pretty quick....

I would have done so many things differently myself. Funny I was just talking to my 16 year old niece and can only hope that the advice I gave her helps...If I had Hine-sight things would have worked out to the way I wanted them to.
