Elonia "Elon" Musk was born into a life of privilege in apartheid South Africa, his father was an emerald dealer and his mother was his father's trophy wife model, albeit she didn't show her ladybits to the general public like Melania did. I daresay his family didn't need a "welfare check"....probably got more in tax breaks.I don't think Elon Musk ever drew a welfare check.
You lost, own it.I think it's probably the last gasp of the Reagan Revolution. At this point most people know trickle down economics theory is horseshit. Now the battle is between people who want to make the USA a better place for everyone, and those who've given up all hope and just wanted to send a "fuck you" to everyone else. The one thing Trump is very good at is giving a voice to the latter camp. But as we've seen time and again, no one else can be Trump.
I do recall that when he signed the Voting Rights Act, LBJ said "We [the Democrats] have just lost the South for a generation."You know, if it helps/saves just One . . . .
Find the unquoted LBJ "quote" about his cynical view of the voting side "benefit" of his "Great Society" and get back to me on this . . . .
Nobody's going to shut up. Or even to be sidelined. This was no realigning election, no Reagan Revolution. The present 50/50 polarization will persist -- until a critical mass of social/cultural/religious conservatives die off -- because, unlike the bizcons, the theocons will not be replaced by younger generations. You lost, own it.

I don't care any more. It was nice that some black dudes joined my side. But after generations of crime, misery and awful schools (one of which I attended), they finally care to make a change? Well, that is a bare minimum. You haven't talked to very many Blacks about why they vote the way they do. If any.

Also, I never talk politics with work colleagues or neighbors. I would get canceled in a moment. So no, I never ask them. Do not care.
Those black peopleThe inner city black lives in a cesspool of their own making. It is cultural and no politician of any stripe can pass any law or write a check big enough to make any meaningful change.
The blacks that have escaped that cesspool generally fall into two categories. The first category are those that think politicians and/or money is going to change things. The second are those that have realized nothing is going to change until such time as those blacks decide to change their culture. This group goes about their lives trying to build on their successes and hoping they'll be a role model.

There's a plan that will at least shake things up.Every urban city-state, and that is what they are evolving into, needs to have a dedicated camping of 10.
Every ten years 10% of the most decayed neighborhoods should be razed and the cockroaches scattered so that it can be turned over to positive redevelopment and the torts and less can be absorbed and culled where necessary.
Good choice from your rolodexGhafla

It is just so easy to pick up a stick than it is to grow a carrot. '74 can tell us all about it...
I’m confident that you will again grow some testicles in a future thread…
