Night Runner

[Morgoth]

"He should be coming after us just about... now", said Kain. A roar went up from the camp and 500 or so beasts of various sorts with Bastack in their lead charged out and right at the group.

 

[Angelus]

Damas looked at the group running towards them and then at the group that he was a part of and said, "Shouldn't we run?"

"I thought that you wanted to kill Bastack for what he did to you. Oh, and do not worry about the group as they will have their own troubles to worry about," Kain said.

With that reavers came out of nowhere and ran straight at the group which seemed to stop and look at Bastack who screamed at them to fight. Without another word or sound the two groups ran straight at eachother. When they slammed into each other screams could be heard from either side.

As soon as the fighting began Damas spotted Bastack and shouted out his name which caused the giant lizard to look at him. With a shout the werewolf ran straight at Bastack, meaning to finish him off once and for all or die trying.

 

[Morgoth]

"Yesssss, to me, little wolf. I will taste your blood before the day is done", he hissed, raising a battle axe larger than even BAstack. In the other hand he held a 9 ft long sword. His tail also had a large, poisonous barb on the end, making that 3 weapons.

 

[Angelus]

Damas ran at Bastack and saw him ready his weapons. He jumped back just in time before the battleax slammed into the ground, cracking it. Damas looked at Bastack and growled before he jumped up onto the great lizard's shoulder and screamed out, "Now you will die!"

He then ripped into Bastack's throat with his claws at the same time that he sank his teeth into the lizard's shoulder.

 

[Morgoth]

The claws simply bounced off the heavy skin, leaving slight imprints. "You amussse me, wolf", shouted the warlord before ripping Damas off his shoulder and hurling him into a tree. He raised the axe and brought it down. Damas leapt to the side, but the tree was caught in half. Damas leaapt again, this time with a broad sword looted from a corpse. The sword bit in slightly to Bastack's shoulder. Then Damas withdrew. Bastack laughed and saluted him with the battle axe, tasting a bit of the blood. "I ssssalute, wolf. You have drawn first blood, but I will have last!" he chuckled.

 

[Angelus]

Damas looked up at Bastack, the broad sword in his hands and watched as the great lizard came towards him. Bastack hissed at the werewolf who responded with a growl before he swung the sword which hit Bastack's shoulder again. The lizard let out a hiss before swinging his sword which connected with Damas's, sending him flying off his feet and into another tree.

 

[Morgoth]

Just then, Bastack's ruby glared red and he fell to his kness scratching at it in pain. He let out a slight whisper."Yes,.... master", and then he stood up and grabbed his weapons. "I will finish you later, wolf. The Dark One calls!" he shouted, before charging off. Meanwhile, Takatha, Zyn, and Kain found themselves hardpressed. Their swords flashed again and again as they killed lizards and ogres and kobolds alike.

 

[Angelus]

Damas shouted out Bastack's name and was about to follow after him but before he could he heard the signs of battle behind him and turned to see that the reavers, Takatha, Zyn and Kain were beginning to fight what looked like a great melee. Bodies were lying everywhere, their blood glistening in the moon light. With a growl he ran straight at the group that were fighting the reavers, dropped his sword and began ripping into them with his claws.

 

[Morgoth]

With the aid of Damas, they quickly finished off the rest of the monsters. When they were done, some of the Reavers started muttering. "Fine, fine", said Kain at last, "Go back to Fuego, but make sure you only collect your share. Go to Castalana Dumarcas". The Reavers sighed happily and ran off.

 

[Angelus]

Damas stood there and watched them as they ran off then turned to Kain, "Where are they going? They seem to be in a hurry."

 

[Morgoth]

"To collect their pay. They say it's way too dangerous out here", sighed Kain.

 

[Angelus]

"I would agree with them on that point. It is a little too dangerous out here but I am betting that it isn't as dangerous as where we are going. Am I right on saying that Takatha?"

 

[Morgoth]

"Very much so", piped in Zyn, shuddering a little. "Who are you anyway?" asked Kain. "I am Zyn, just Zyn. I am, unluckily, Ganth's wife. But he is not like he was when he was alive. Now he just wants to rule and live for eternity. He no longer caresses me, and I do not wish him to. Me and Takatha are lovers now", she said gently, her beautiful features illuminated in a fire that Kain had made.

 

[Angelus]

Damas looked into the fire and smiled, things were just getting better all the time. First he was brought here by Takatha then he was beaten to near death by Bastack and then got into a battle with him only to live and find out that Zyn was Ganth's wife... what else could happen.

 

[Morgoth]

"Do not worry Damas, I hate Ganth and would never betray any of you", Zyn whispered.

 

[Angelus]

Damas looked at Zyn and whispered, "How did you know what I am thinking. No wait, that is a stupid question. I had forgotten that vampires can read minds."

 

[Morgoth]

"No, we can't. That is simple fairy tale. I can read it in your eyes. It's very clear", she answered.

 

[Angelus]

"Oh... I should learn how to hide my feelings then. If they are that obvious to you then I would hate to go into a fight with Ganth and tell me what I am thinking before I even think it."

 

[Morgoth]

She shuddered again. "Ganth will read you even if you do your best", muttered Zyn.

 

[Angelus]

"I know... that bastard read my mind even before he started torturing me. I can still hear his laughter everytime I screamed out in pain."

 

[Morgoth]

Now everyone shuddered. "I think we should get started", said Zyn as they heard a faraway roar. "That would be Azur, mightiest of the Blue Dragons. Ganth used his treachery to enslave the mighty blue. Azur, by no chance at all, wants to let Ganth live. everyday, he mutters agains Ganth and even says about his plans before him, but he cannot do it. The crystal shard is too powerful for that", said Zyn.

 

[Angelus]

"I know... he has many werewolves enslaved with that crystal shard of his. I would like nothing more than the opportunity to destroy that shard of his and him with it but I feel that I do not have the power to destroy a creature such as Ganth but yet he fears me. That much I know."

 

[Morgoth]

"There is one thing he values above all. And thankfully, he does not have it, or he would become a god. It is called the Crystal Shard and is more precious to a fire mage than a billion perfect rubies", Takatha spoke up.

 

[Angelus]

"Then we must find this Crystal Shard and destroy it if we can. I know that it is a source of great power and will be extremely difficult to do but I have the feeling that is what Ganth will go after. He has your scepter and cloak so he must want something that is even more power, something that will make him unbeatable and ruler over this place. The Crystal Shard."

 

[Morgoth]

"No", said Takatha, shaking his head. "Me has more than enough power to conquer this world. He needs the shard for immortality. Once, many hundreds of years ago, he made a deal with an immortal creature named the Laria for life after death. But the Laria played him for a fool. It gave him a large ruby, one that would keep him alive after death, but would shatter after a time. When it shattered, the Laria would have Ganth's soul. The Laria is still alive, waiting for Ganth to die, so it can start it's own conquests", explained Takatha.
