Night Runner

Circe

OOC: No, I was thinking that she didnt know exactly who killed her brother. That is her quest in this life is to find out. She is checking out rumors that Ganth had something to do with his death/dissapearance. I will join you when I see a good place to hop in.

OOC: Yeah I got word from cheekyminx that he is having problems getting onto Lit so he will be back when he can.

OOC: No need to wait because here I am.

IC: Damas turned to Takatha and then looked at the Gargoyle King. He knew that there was no way that they would get out of this place alive if they tried to escape and tried to think of another way out. He looked around the large cavern and saw that there were gargoyles everywhere and they were all looking at the group, making Damas extremely nervous.

"Welcome to my abode!" bellowed the King. "I have not killed you because we can help each other. You can kill Ganth and I can give you the means to", he said.

Damas looked up at the Gargoyle King and shouted, "I don't mean to sound rude but how can we trust you. Since we got to this place people and creatures have been trying to kill the four of us and it is getting slightly tiresome."

The king looked down at the werewolf and began to laugh which caused every other gargoyle in the cavern to laugh as well.

The king suddenly stopped laughing and the gargoyles decreased nervously until they were silent. "You can't. And I can't trust you, either. But I know where the ruby shard that Ganth wants so much is. And if Ganth were to conquer this world, he would set it to finding the shard. When he found the shard, he would become like a god. Then he would kill me. He might even be able to kill the Laria", said the Gargoyle King.

Damas took a step back in shock and looked at the others, seeing the same look of shock on their faces. He looked at the Gargoyle King and cleared his throat then said, "Forgive me for asking this oh great lord as I am but a humble werewolf but could you please tell us the location of this crystal shard so that we may be able to stop Ganth for we have no wish to see him become a god."

OOC: i am drawn to this story like a moth to the flame. I would love to add a Char if you aprove. a maiden held captive in the depths of the dragon's lair, who unbeknown to even the dark lord, holds the key to the crystal shard, and a secret sword. SHe is the light, and the balance that darkness does not know it needs. please let me know if you aprove, and how and when it would fit to the story. She is Lilly

OOC: Sounds like a perfect character for this thread- welcome aboard.

OOC: Angelius- my thoughts exactly. Perfect! But, why don't you put her in Ganth's lair. They are going to Ganth first.

IC: "Apology accepted", boomed the gargantuan monarch. "Look to the viewing pool", he said. Everyone looked. An image of a village appeared. A young fire mage walked into it, 2 cat warriors at his side. The viewing pool suddenly focused on a fold in his robe. There was the crystal shard! Then, the pool focused on the forest. They saw Reptilian eyes. All throughout the forest, glints of metal and those same eyes watched the three. "That is Jarric, a young firemage. This is his iniciation quest. Befriend him, for he is the one that can use the shard. The young cat-warrior is Ferlin. Befriend him as well. That last cat warrior is named Reth. Befriend him also, but his doom is yet uncertain to me. Beware of Baskilus and his Lizcanth always, for they follow the three around", he said.

Damas looked at the firemage and said, "Oh great. Who else is going to join our little party?"

He turned to Takatha and said, "When are we going to leave here and get to the mage because I want to destroy Ganth and send him to a place for which there is no escape. And I want to destroy that dispicable Bastack as well- that bastard."

"Damas, you're right, we should leave now. I am sorry, greta king, but we must take our leave", bowed Takatha. He walked out, Zyn and Takatha following him.

Damas turned and bowed before the king then turned again and followed the others out of the cave and looked around to see that everything was now quiet which is what bothered him, everything was now too quiet. He looked around and then sniffed, trying to find out if there was something around that would aid or destroy them in the area.

Lilly paced the length of her cell in frustration. Deep within Lord Ganth's pits, she refused to let the situation get the better of her. The room was solid stone, save for the metal grate in the roof that acted as an entrance, and a point for the gards to torment their captors. A translucent fungas that grew wild in the damp walls eluminated room enough to see just how filthy it was. She fingered the silver collar on her neck that prevented her form using her powers, and rendering her helpless. The weight of it cutting into her soft pale flesh, leaving nasty red welts. Lord Ganth thought he had captured a virgin maiden of the Order Of LIght, if he had known who she really was, there woud be much more to be lost than mearly her life. She tried once more to send out a mental cry for help, but the effort only flooded her mind with pain. She sank againt the wall and tried not to weep, praying to the light that salvation would find her soon.

Takatha stretched on the little overhang. 4 huge gargoyles walked out. They pushed them off the overhang. But they quickly flew after them, and caught them in mid-air. Then they were flying, West, always West.

Damas looked down and instantly wished that he hadn't as the ground passed below him at a quick rate. He looked over at Takatha and saw the look of pure bliss on his face and knew why he had the look on his face, he was in the sky and flying and that was a vampire's element, the air.

Circe

OOC: Now seems as good a place as any to jump in

IC: Circe looked up into the sky and her mouth dropped. She cold see gargoyles and they carried people. That was very unusual and it was the unusual that she sought. She was on a quest to find and take revenge on her brother's killers and she had followed many leads but they always ended in a dead end. Well, it couldnt hurt to follow this one also.

Casting a spell about her, she rose from the valley floor and 'flew' after them. It was a simple spell but it would not last as long as the gargoyles wings so she hoped that they were not flying far. She was also not as fast but she managed to keep them in sight as she went along.

Damas turned to Takatha and shouted out above the wind, "How long is it going to take us to get there as I am getting a little air sick!"

He heard a laugh from Takatha with that comment and knew exactly what it meant. It was then that the gargoyles went a little faster and Damas felt his stomach churn.

Celia

Celia cursed as she saw the gargoyles speed up. Thinking quickly, she tossed a spell to hit the figure that the last gargoyle was carrying. She was hoping that whoever it was was not sensitive to magic. The spell would let her tail them without her seeing them but it would only be good for a short distance.

Takatha laughed and broke free from his gargoyle. But instead of falling, he flew through the air easily. The gargoyle tagged along, knowing what the Gargoyle King would do if he failed.

Lilly woke from a dream. A dream of men and gargoyles. She could make no sence of it, but it gave her hope.

Damas watched as Takatha flew throught the air and wondered what he was doing. He seemed to have gone mad as he was actually laughing, a sound that Damas had never heard before. He then looked ahead and saw a large open plain, wondering if that is where they were going and hoped that it was because he was getting more than a little sick.

"How far is this village?" asked Zyn, breaking free of her gargoyle. "It'ssss little more than 200 milessss away, not that far", said the gargoyle.
