Night Runner

Damas groaned when he heard how much further they had to go. It seemed that they had been in the air for far too long already and he had just heard that they were going to be up in the air for two hundred miles. He wished that he could get free from the gargoyle that was holding him but he knew that if he did that he would plunge to the ground and his death.

Damas watched Takatha as he did a spin in the air and let out a low growl. He hated the air, he would love to be on the ground but he knew that they would make more ground this way and closed his eyes, hoping that the trip wouldn't be any longer.

OOC: Oh, Morgoth- in case you haven't heard then I won't be here from the 1st of March until the 12th as I will be having a damn good holiday. I hope that this means that this thread doesn't die because I'm not here as I would love to take it back up when I come back on.

OOC: True- but then I have to do the dreaded catch up (shudders)

OOC: but there is a good thing to me being away- you can pass me in the number of posts

OOC: As do I- I think that's why I need this holiday. I need the break- I need a big break.

OOC: I here you on that point because after a while you just need to take a damn good break and get away from everything.
Hey, what happened to the thread?

OOC: Circe is just waiting for you guys to land so she can get into it...lol. And I hope you have a wonderful vacation Angelius.

OOC: I'm actually waiting for us to land myself- but Morgoth seems to be having a little fun with it. And thank you Isolde, it will hopefully be a good vacation but I have three days left to wait {hurry time, hurry)

OOC: Actually, I'm waiting for you to land us. But I will anyway.

IC: After flying for about 2 hours, they finally reached their destination. They landed down and took a look around. It was not a very good village. All it had were pleasure bars and pleasure inns. "Disgusting pieces of filth", muttered Takatha, shaking his head slowly.

OOC: Whoops.... sorry about that Morgoth. Forgive me for that one.

IC: As soon as Damas had his feet on the ground he felt happy. There would be no more flying around for a while and that is the one thing that got him as he almost been sick more than once. He looked around the village and took a sniff, smelling only one thing- the smell of women. He took a look around and thought it weird that there were no men around and turned to Takatha.

"Where are all the men. I know this is a pleasure village but I had expected to see men running around here but I see none at all."

OOC: What's to forgive?

"Really? Have you just noticed that? This is a Dark Amazon village. Sleep with a woman, she'll give you a sleeping powder that'll knock you out for 4 days. Then, they sacrifice you to their gods and eat you're corpse. But they make no move if you don't approach them. Although I sense 3 males, still. It seems like it's that fire mage and 2 cat warriors", stated Takatha.

Circe

Circe lit down just beyond the village. She watched those she had been following though she could not hear what they had to say. The 'flight' here had left her pretty drained and she did not want to get into a situation where she had to use more magic than necessary until she had rested some.

She stood back and watched and waited for what would happen next.

Damas looked around and sniffed the air then growled, "Females approaching and they do not seem to be in a very happy mood."

He then ran off into a group of shadows and ran up to the rooftops to where the group of women were and saw that they all had weapons in their hands.

This does not look goodhe thought as he ran back towards where Takatha and the group were.

Circe

Circe watches the women approach. Damn! If they got caught by those men eaters, she would never find out if they knew anything about her brother's death. They may not but then again, they were traveling towards Ganth's fortress and that is where she was heading for answers.

Running forward as silently as possible, she nears the women and sees they are outnumbered and the amazons have many weapons. Time for a surprise. It might turn the tide.

Circe spends a moment preparing a spell before stepping from the shadows she had been hidden in and letting loose her lightening spell. The spell arched from her hands and spread out towards the women, striking the ones in front who fell with a cry. They were not dead but the shock would put them out for a very long time.

Stepping up to where the others were, she looks at the other woman-good lord, was she a vampire? Well time enough for that later-and said to the remaining warrior women. "The men are ours. We only wish passage through your village but we will not let you keep our possesions." As she is waiting she begins the incantation for another spell, ready to use it if need be.

Takatha saw the women and instantly recognized them. Then he saw another woman hit them with lightning, but knew that she was on their side for now. "Do nothing", he hissed telepathically to the others.

Circe

One of the women came forward, parting the others as she did. The woman was tall and muscular without losing any of her feminine qualities. Her hair was long and brown and her eyes a piercing grey. She looked down at Circe and her lips parted in an amused smile. She had a large and dangerous looking sword on her back and a wicked dagger in her boot.

"And who is going to stop us from taking the males, little one?," She said, laughter in her voice,"You?" The group of amazons around her took up the laughter until the woman raised her hands and stared directly at Circe.

Circe shivered a bit and resisted the urge to pull her gaze away. She hoped these people were going to be worth this but she had nothing to lose. Her family was dead and the only thing she had now was revenge.

She nodded and tried to make her voice as menacing as possible. "If you insist on this I guess I will," she said taking a defensive stance.

The woman threw her head back and laughed loud and long. "Well, the small one has spirit," She said as the mirth died on her lips,"We will fight for the males then. If you win-you go free. If I win-they are ours and both you and the other woman die at our hands."

Her eyes widened and her heart skipped a beat but she nodded. And hoped that she was not making a big mistake.

Damas sat up on the roof and wondered what was happening down there. At first several of the warriors had been hit by lightning by a very beautiful mage and now the tallest warrior had just challenged the mage. He knew that he had to do something and he could easily kill several of the warriors before they killed him but he had heard the telepathic command from Takatha and decided to stay where he was.

Circe

The leader smirked and turned, gesturing for Circe to follow her into the middle of the village. Here there was a circle and she led the magic user into it.

"We fight here," She said as she took a fighting stance and readied her sword,"The first one killed or pushed out of the circle loses. What is your choice of weapons?"

Circe stepped carefully into the circle. Shrugging she smiled and replied,"Just little ol' me." The amazon looked shocked but then laughed. "You die tonight, little one." She said and then lunged toward Circe with a downward swing.

Circe was caught off guard but managed to step away from the swing. However it did graze her arm and now she had a line of blood showing through the cut sleeve of her blouse.

"Ok, time to do something besides stand around," Circe said to herself as she prepared a fire spell which she turned around an threw at the amazon. The large woman put out her sword and half-way deflected the ball of fire so that it split and went up into the air. Some of the sparks fell on her clothes and hair but were quickly put out by her quick movements.

Circe's eyes narrowed. The blade must be majiked. Okay than it was time to pull out all the plugs. "I dont have time for this," She said in a low voice,"I have a goal to get to and you are in my way." Gathering her power, she prepared and held a spell for a moment. It was a simple spell and one that allowed her to travel here after the people she was now fighting for. However, by holding it and letting it grow, she was making it a bit more powerful.

As the amazon raised her sword for the next swing, Circe aimed the spell for her open area around the chest and stomach. She only had a split second but it was enough and the spell lifted and carried the woman up and away to crash into and through the roof of one of the buildings as if someone had delt her a mighty punch.

Circe folded her arms and smiled. "You're outside the circle," She said with a grin,"I guess that means I won." She turned to join the others and suggest they leave when a very bloodied and angry amazon leader burst through the door of the building she just smashed into.

Her eyes were alight with hate and she said two words but they put the village into an uproar. "KILL THEM!", she shouted and the amazon women hastened to comply.

"Damn!," Circe said as she was cut off from the others,"So much for bargains." She readied another fire spell and threw it at the five women in front of her causing it to hit the ground and surround them. With a murmur of a few words, the circle of fire begin to flare up and slowly close on them-effectively trapping them. Circe looked over to the others and hoped they could hold their own.
