Nicknames

Recently I've been wondering about what to call my sub while we're playing. So far I've been calling her Kitten, but only really because that's my nickname for her anyway, and I've been calling her that for ages. I want a different name to use during play, something set apart and reserved for the times when she is my sub rather than my equal. Names can pick up quite a bit of power by association with that kind of thing - in fact for just the same reason, though she quite often wears collars as a general fashion item we have a special one set aside which she ONLY wears for play. Even putting it on is enough to make her tremble, because of the anticipation and associations with it. I want the same from a name...

Any suggestions? I don't want to go too far. I know things like 'slave' and 'slut' wouldn't work, with her.

"you" works for some. When not in playspace call her by her name - always as an expression of affection. Use "you" in playspace to keep her in her place as a sub.

A generic name like "you" or "girl" would not be an effective trigger, if that's what you're looking for. I would suggest something that is an attribute of hers--for instance, if she's a redhead, then "Red". Or if she has green eyes, "Jade". Something that feels natural to you, not forced or contrived, and that can be attributed to her.

I don't think I have a specific name during play...the usual bitch, slut, whore, etc. come to mind but nothing specific. I have pet names that I am called, but they are only ever affectionate and not used in play.

I had a slave name at one time, that person called me Chesher, like cheshire because I was his sex kitten he said. I rather liked the name, and I've even used it in my For My Master seriese of stories. Tho the Master I wrote the seriese for is not the one who had that name for me. His name for me is slut, and I was never very fond of it until I heard it from his lips. One person who sessions me from time to time will simply call me slave. Other than that I'm usually called my normal nick name when being sessioned.

My Master calls me that! *swoon* As for a name, i agree that you should have a seperate nickname for playtime. My Master only calls me kitten during play and it makes me shudder, but if he called me that all the time, it wouldn't be near as sexy.

The reason I don't think 'slut' and names like it would work, is that her submissive tendencies seem to come from a desire to serve, and from the experiments we've done so far, loving control is FAR more effective on her than demeaning control. Plus I really didn't feel comfortable demeaning her.

Plus she's got some deep-seated issues regarding sex, and they're quite complex. But a simple version would be that on some fundamental level, she thinks it's wrong. In the heat of the moment she forgets that, and everything's great. But I really can't say anything to her to suggest she's being 'bad', or it will shatter the moment for her.

I like "pet," especially since you say you call her "kitten," too. Makes sense to me. "My pet kitten" might work well in some cases, too.

I gave my little one a slave name a while back when we decided we wanted to have this type of life. I gave her the name of "ame" which stands for "soul" in I believe French(its been a while and I've forgotten exactly where I got it.) Anyway, I named her that because she is my soul. I always tell her that I feel like I was empty before her. Usually I call her honey or babe or some such so when she hears ame she knows Master is prowling about.

I used to get in very very big trouble for calling Daddy a bitch. I would get whipped for it. Sadly that's been forgotten, and I sometimes try it to provoke em but it doesn't usually work anymore.

Can you be old to the lifestyle and still not dig slut bitch or whore?

I never viewed these as compliments and they weren't especially accurate anyhow as to feel more stupid than hot. I'm a lot of things - when I was bottoming I may have been a pet, I may have been a horny little cocksucker, but I wasn't really "a slut."

How can someone be a slut if he's just following orders? Does that make him a slut? Not really, he has to be one intrinsicly. Some people are and some people really are not. It's not a bad thing to be, I just don't see it as a logical tie in to being submissive.

FWIW, when I'm being either sweet or patrionizing, I do use "kitten" with people. The less it fits, the better.
