Newbie needs help!!!!!!



How do you work the skins, I've tried most of them, I'm on Bluisaint liquid 3 I think, with my browser text size set largest, I still can't hardly see.

Am I going blind? Is there a blind skin setting?

Have you tried the "VBulletin 3 Default"?
That's the one I use now and it's not so bad...I find that the font are bigger than the others.

Yes, Lisa...there is the blind setting...is called Yui's Skin and if you put your hands right here, we'll work on your Braille.

Need help....BAD!!!

Hi,

I'm dumb, dumb, dumb!!! I was messing around with the new thingie, deleted my AV and now I can't get it back....no option nothing to change AV...just as if I was a newbie (-100 posts) and didn't have the options to change it yet.

I saw my husband's page and he does have the option....just me who lost this option....anyone knows why or how I could get it back....

All help appreciated and the one saving my butt will have a statue erected to his/her effigie

I'm on the bluisaint liquid 3, its the largest text I can find with a wide view but not 2 feet long. Then I set my browser from medium to largest text, and yes, I seriously think this is hurting my eyes. Can they add one more option skin, "Revert to dinosaur days view?"

I've been going through the skins trying to find one that works but I'm having no luck. Either it hurst my eyes, or writing is too small or the posts appear wide screen version and I have to scroll to the right. I'd love to go back to the Dinosaur days. Wonder if it can be made into an option for personal settings.

Lady C, I just deleted mine and put it back, you have a tech prob. Go up to the stickys and find a Manu post and PM him, he handles tech stuff, he is prolly very busy but this may be something only he can fix. I deleted mine, checked use custom AV and browsed and put it back. This text size sucks.

Thanks Lisa...I PM'ed Manu. I'm sure he won't be able to get to it right away, he probably is snowed under a ton a glitch problem but at least he'll know.

How long is a piece of string? It depends on the category, the attraction or otherwise of the title and author's name...

Once a story is off the first page of 'New Stories' it could drop to as few as 40 hits a week.

A note on painful eyes and text size. Have you checked your browser options for ignoring font sizes on web pages? I marked that little box so I can get by with one pair of glasses for all reading. LOL

Go to your browser menu.
Click on Extra.
Choose Internet options.
On the bottom to the right you should find a button for visibility/readability, something like that.
Click on it.
You get a screen with three options: ignore a, ignore b and ... ignore font sizes.

That should help, if you have your pc monitor on a comfortable font size for you.

Dr.M gave me a link for firefox browser, I downloaded. I'm gonna install and try in a little while but have little hope. Also its hard to stay interested in something that is hard to look at. I can't find any threads and just wander away.

Firefox is good, both 'Politically' and Functionally.

'Politically', since monopolies don't help anyone much, except for the monopolist - and Firefox not only goes outside the monopoly, but is (and always has been) freeware without strings. Functionally, ff is good since not only is it simply an excellent Web browser, but also because the mal-ware gonzos don't target it, so it's safer. (BTW, the same comments also apply to Opera - go google!)

I'm assuming that you have switched to Firefox....

DO NOT get rid of IE... you'll need it as that is the only way Microshaft... I mean Microsoft Windows will update... security and all that....

Also... a lot of Bank websites and commerce sites don't reconize Firefox yet....

IE isn't hurting anything just sitting there... Mark Firefox as the default web browser and happy surfing.....

Black Tulip, I just downloaded that Firefox and installed and made it default like Txrad said, to try it out. That way if I don't like it I can just make IE my default again. I have XP pro. This firefox is different, some stuff slightly changed, but one thing I like is it is supposed to be much more secure than IE, less hijacks and viruses and stuff get through my firewall. I know how to fight them things and get rid of them but it is nice not to have to, see ya, Lisa.

OK, I downloaded both FireFox and Opera.
Decided to install FireFox. Looks fine to me.
If something awful happens in the next few days, I'll hold you guys responsible. LOL
