Jenny explained it very well...that's if you want a pic in the body of your message. If you mean an avatar, that pic under your name you have to wait until after you have made 100 posts for that.

If the pics are on you hard drive then you simply go down to the bottom below the message box to ADDITIONAL OPTIONS and click the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS button. There you can browse for a pic. It comes out as a picture the reader has to open. There is a sample at the end.

The second way is to attach a picture from the web using the ADDITIONAL OPTIONS or it can be added, if you have the picture saved in Photobucket or the like, by pasting the image code like...
