New Milestones Thread

Two weeks before the 15th anniversary of my first story being published.

That's very impressive. Congrats.

Back in 2017, not long after I started publishing stories, I started monitoring my stats fairly closely. Sometime after that, I decided out of curiosity to monitor the stats of other authors, to see how I was doing by comparison. Because I'm a competitive, geeky person that way.

You were one of the authors I monitored, among several others.

On May 1, 2019, almost six years ago today, these were the follower totals:

Silkstockingslover 26352 By far the most followed author at Literotica.

Lovecraft68 11823 You were number 3, after TxTallTales.

Me (SimonDoom) 1832 I'd been publishing for about 2 1/2 years at that point. I was about number 190 on the all time most followed list after publishing a bunch of incest stories.

Today:

Silkstockingslover 56,689 Still number 1, by far. Over double the number from back then. It's hard to imagine anybody ever catching her, especially because she keeps publishing.

Lovecraft68 25,003 As of the moment I just checked. You are number 2. More than double the followers of six years ago. But in absolute terms Silkstockingslover's followers lead has doubled.

Me (SimonDoom) 6195 My numbers have more than tripled. I'm number 64 on the most followed list.

The gap between us in absolute terms has increased, but in percentage terms your followers have a little more than doubled while mine have much more than tripled. So, if that rate keeps up, sometime in the next 30 years I may catch you!

Do not invite the Boomers in; they're like vampires.
I didn't expect it to last. I've had stories at the lower end of the Hall of Fame list and they were bombed out of sight as soon as they were added.

ETA: The new score should put me at around spot 17. Plenty more room for bombing.

Yeah, I know, I have a Pops and a Mum who are boomers (white ones to boot). Believe me, they ain't sweeter with age, except to the grandkids.
Not sure how to say this, but race neither increases nor diminishes one’s ability to sit on the porch and scream, “Hey kids, get off my damn lawn!” 😜

Hey, hey. Boomer here, though by a nose. Let's be nice. We're just as sweet as the youngsters.
Sorry guys. As a Gen Xer, I can tell you as we approach front porch status, we will be way, way worse.

Except we won’t be on the porch that often. We’ll be in our ManCaves and SheSheds, plotting revenge.

Won't post it. But imagine, if you will, a photo of my son drinking from a baby bottle teat attached to a wine bottle. In a pub in Sydney. On his "christening party".

He wasn't the only one screaming through the streets that night. Lest you think I'm a downunder reprobate, the wine bottle was of course empty. I'm a good parent*.

Just differentiating between birth and adoptive parents. You like that word, it's a biggin. :p

I appreciate the differentiation.
My ex is adopted. Her dad died and her mom remarried.
Her birth mom didn't marry her dad but did marry.
Point is, in effect I have a mother-in-law, adopted mother in law, step-mother-in-law, a father-in-law, step father-in-law, adopted-father-in-law(deceased), and an adopted step-father-in-law...

I understand the confusion. :ROFLMAO:

EDIT: just hit me, someone should do an accidental I/T story with a setup like this.

Your family's even more mixed up than mine! I feel for you, Sista!

My family is really pretty chill, mostly nuclear, just massive. my mom is one of eight. I'm one of 30 grand kids and when my grandparents died, they had 45 greats, and five great, greats. Holidays were a blast. :)

It's my ex's family that's got all the confusion.

This may sound weird or shocking, considering my past, but I've never dated for real. I had a few boys try to date me, those I met at the theater. They ask where I lived and if they could drop by sometime, I'd point to my adoptive dad and say, "Better ask him." They'd seen him break up fights between grown men, teenagers, and he has the hardest eyes you've stared into when he's displeased. So, they leave and not ask him anything. I wasn't into boys, I knew that, Pops knew that, everyone but those boys knew it. I met Jo in 2009, and we didn't date. Not exactly, that is. We just hung out until we moved in together. All Mum's family is in Australia, Dad's isn't near here, and there are fewer of them every year. He was the only boy in a family of four. He and his sister don't see each other often. They talk on the phone a lot, but nothing more. His cousins are spread all over the country. My sister is in Denver, and my brother is in Texas. I see them a few times a year.

I know it won't last very long, hence the reason I took a screenshot, but I currently have the top rated mature story ever. Even if only for a moment it feels nice. I expect this extra attention to the story to not be kind to it's rating but that's fine. I guess I'm just happy it resonated with close to 100 people.

It's a dubious honor but I guess it does count as a milestone since it was more or less inevitable. I have at least one unabomber on my tail, who made himself known the moment I dropped my new story:

I/T is my bread & butter, and I can reasonably expect almost all my actual votes there to be 4's and 5's. While it's possible that the spread above resulted from something unlikely like 4,3,3, it is much more likely that the votes I got were some permutation of 5,4,1.

Well, guess you don't even need to write in LW these days to ruffle the feathers of trolls

The story has only been out a couple hours, it's too early to tell how it's going to shake out.

If I'm thinking along the lines of the title the son is an incel for some reason and mom fixes that. The 'real men' crowd is not going to like that because the son is a simp and all the women evil for not putting out for him.

I can bet some who are thinking its what I just said didn't read to see if its true or how you handled it, just hit the one.

That thread from that twit verbal abuse shows that mentality well, and they're on the rise.

Your regulars will bail it out over time.
