KoolAid said:“Any ideas as to how to get word to the other two without..uh” He chuckled sarcastically. “without embarrassing them?....Hey..why don’t I just tap on the door lightly and say “Honey, its time to go home..so hurry and finish up. I’ll wait outside.”
He started giggling with pain.
Anne could sense the change in Alan and she kicked herself for opening her mouth, but "Oh well," she hadn't meant to kill the mood, just being realistic.
"Tell you what, we won't say or do anything to them. Usually we'll just enjoy a cup of coffee or something on the veranda and wait for Marie or Wayne to appear, so let's do that."
She grabbed a robe, "I'll go arrange something for us to drink outside, and you get dressed, okay."
"Sounds like a plan," Alan agreed. He watched her leave and slowly got dressed, wanting to give Marie her time, but also wanting to leave.
He moved off into the kitchen, and then followed Anne outside. The cool early morning air hit his skin as it did Anne's.
"Let's just sit here, and I'll tell you abit about me... I remember you asked what I liked and made me tick so I'll do that until Marie comes out, sound like a plan?"
"Yes, it does and a nice one at that," he replied.
Anne told him a bit about herself, she had been born in Ohio, and had met Wayne in college. Though they had discussed having kids, neither one wanted them right away and then after awhile they both admitted they liked this life, and not being tied down with kids, besides if they change their minds there is still time.
She continued to tell him, about her hobbies of painting and web design. "I also enjoy collecting fine china. If you guys ever decide to come back over here, I'll show you some of my paintings.... if your into that sort of thing."
As Alan and Anne sat enjoying the quiet morning and the sounds of crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl, they each quietly reflected on the nights activities, each taking something from the evening to learn about themselves.
