KoolAid said:Dear Anne
I had a wonderful time last night, and Wayne is a very lucky man. You helped me to reconnect to parts of me that I thought had been lost forever and other parts that I never knew about. May you always be blessed with the happiness and satisfaction you so richly deserve.
Your friend
Alan.
Anne read the email from Alan, once, then twice. She was in the process of reading it a third time, when she picked up her phone. "Yes, Anne, can I help you?"
"It's me."
"Oh, hi Honey," she said as she spoke to Wayne on the other end of the line. "Sorry I'm late getting home, but I'll be leaving soon."
He asked if she knew of any plans that were coming up for this weekend.
She sighed into the phone and reread the email, "Nope, I don't believe I do."
"You sound disappointed."
"More like surprised and perhaps puzzled." Shifting in her seat, she continued, "If I read this to you, what do you think it would mean?"
Anne read the email, and wondered what it did mean. Before Wayne could respond she launched into her own series of questions, and half attempted answers.
"I mean is it, Thanks Anne it was good, let's do it again? Or is it, It was good, but no thanks?" She pushed herself from the chair, and took the phone with her as she walked.
"I mean, it sounds polite," she went on, as she walked to the window of her office. "Don't you think it is to polite, I mean I helped him reconnect. Does that mean, I was real technical, taught him something, made him feel something for her, his wife, the woman he should have been screwing or does it mean, I was a good fuck but not the greatest."
Anne's temper was flaring. She pushed the delete button on the computer and erased the message, "Screw him, I don't want to bother with him either."
She knew she was probably over-reacting, but she had seen the flowery words that Marie had penned to Wayne, she wanted those too, but she obviously wasn't going to get them from Alan. "No wonder she came looking for you on the Internet!"
"Hon, I'm sure he didn't mean it like that," Wayne's voice told her, trying to ease her feelings.
"Oh, whatever, I have work to do and I'll be home in a bit. I love you, at least I know I satisfy you." She hung up the phone, and tried to put the short, formal email out of her mind.
Soon she found herself absorbed in her work, and finally finished. She headed home, all thoughts of Alan out of her system, just another fuck, well if that was all he wanted then that was all he'd get.
Anne parked her car, and walked into the house, "Hey babe, I'm finally home, and I'm starved!"
