Nerd Hook Up Thread

Happy Monday! Had a great Halloween, went to a party the night before with my friends from my high school gaming club. Pic of my costume is actually in my profile now.

We ended up watching/comentating Dead Snow, kind of in honor of Cinematic Titanic which we will be hitting up later in Nov. They are the actors from various seasons of MST3K who formed their own troop and now tour doing the same thing. I've seen them every time they come into town, always a great show.

Actually found out about the show when they were guests at a local gaming convention here.

So yea, definitely nerdy, and can't believe I hadn't stumbled into this thread before :) I'm usually all about hitting up the geek/nerd threads, but nice to be here now.

Cool thread :)

I'm definitely a nerd/geek haha
I love vampires and anything by joss whedon and have love in my heart for ron moore and jj abrams.

For halloween I watched Harry Potter (among other things) and drank margritas (I had to work the next day :( ).

So, what are you into?

I'm proud of my nerd-dom, which has the geeky spin on it. I'm a network engineer at my day job. But that isn't what usually outs me....

I like Dr Who and my kids and I all dress up as either Indiana Jones, or Hogwarts students. Halloween was a HP marathon at my house. :) and I play all sorts of board games... ok, maybe I'm more geek than nerd.. I'm also a redophile

Star Wars was the first movie I saw in a theater... partly due to the time it came out.. but also because I grew up way out in the country and going to a movie theater was something of a drive. On TV, I'm much more of a BSG fan that star wars though... I've met most of the cast from BSG.

See you all at Dragon*Con :)

I read your post and your profile. I must say, you are such a nerd.

What's MST3K? It sounds super nerdy.

Joss Whedon and JJ Abrams sound familiar. Dollhouse and Felicity? And Lost! Man, what a love triangle for a girl to be in.

I was still a kid when the first Harry Potter came out. I'm imagining all those nerdy boys becoming nerdy men. Did they lust over Hermione?

LOL thank you :)

I know the answer to that. Mystery Science Theater Three thousand.

That would be it! :)

It's a TV show where they make fun of various B movies, and now they produce Riff Tracks which you can play to current movies with your iPod.

What's a redophile? It sounds kind of bad.

Sexy zombies

Hey freckly, have you come across Amelia Beamer's 'The Loving Dead'? I think you'd like it...

Look into Joss and JJ - they are love wrapped up in nerd packaging. Joss did Buffy, Angel, and Firefly (and, yes, Dollhouse) and is doing the new Avengers movie! woo! JJ did Lost and Felicity but also was a producer for Cloverfield and did the new Star Trek movie (creating the bromance of Chris & Zach *swoon*) and he also did Alias. My biggest nerd-dom fantasy is JJ and Joss doing a show together... it would be incredibly amazing. Hopefully not on FOX.

Probably one of the most original Personals threads I've seen...nice job!

I often refer to myself as a book nerd. I'm also a published writer. I like scary things! ;)

LOL...too funny. I went to Dragon*Con once several years ago as a guest writer. Had a friggin' BLAST! :D

Hi. Keep the nerd talk in here, silly.

I don't think I've even heard of that before. Is it old?

You need to watch the Labyrinth, it is a great movie with some cool song. Its from 1986 (oh god now I feel old)

Hello all, I am a geek, and some of my favourite past times are playing warhammer and D&D.

As one of you may know, I love Alan Tudyk, Wash from Firefly and Aplha from Dollhouse.

I also picked up Bioshock 2 the other day and just finished playing it, it was difficult, so I liked that it challenged me; but the ending was so bittersweet that I almost cried
