I have a Canon AE-1. Black and white. It's been pretty much a hipster thing. Mostly Holga type stuff though.

The Holga thing I can understand...I know a few people who do Poloroid stuff which is really cool. That I see as Hipster. Kinda funny I never would have considered myself that, just a nerd. ;)

That Cannon is a good rig! I shoot Nikon and have a F that is very similar to your camera. Do you process your own film and make your own prints too?

I used to and every now and then. I don't have a dedicated dark room. :(
 
I would say I am a nerd.

I've been gamer nerd since I was about 6 years old starting with my atari and moving on the ps2. Moved over the pretty much only PC gaming after that.

Complete trekkie, seen every episode of every series at least twice, most of them more. Also love other sci-fi series like Battlestar galactica(original and new), babylon 5, stargate. Aside from Sci-Fi, anything with great writing and acting(early seasons of The West Wing, The Wire come to mind)

I could keep listing movies, but this post would get really long really fast.

I stick pretty much exclusively to fantasy novels, most recently the Sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind.

I played D&D for a long time while I was in school, until our dungeon master moved to Texas, it was never the same after that.

I've been playing Magic:The Gathering(trading card game for those not in the know) for 17 years, playing casually and at one point professionally for a period of time. My collection of cards takes most of one of my closets, drove my last girl up a wall.

I can be a bit socially inept at times and lacking in interpersonal confidence. But I have a huge heart and I am a hopeless romantic. I not good at getting put on the spot, but I can figure out just about anything given the time to think about it. I can also be a fountain of useless knowledge that will either make you laugh, or think I am nuts

I was into X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Nova. Graphic novels didn't start coming out until I had gotten over that phase, but I love the Watchmen and 300 Gnovels. Very classy. I did a summer internship in Florida my junior year of college and my boss had an entire room of his house dedicated to every Marvel comic book ever made. I stayed the summer at his house and tried to read them all. LOL.

Yeah, my wife didn't like the glasses. Now that I am getting older, I need reading glasses, so the sexy, glasses look is still in. Woo hoo!
 
I've definitely got some nerdy and geeky tendencies!

I'm an engineering student and that's a good start for nerdiness!
I like vintage cars and (gasp) steam trains. I still insist that there's a lot of romance to a long railway journey, and to those who don't believe me I recommend watching North by Northwest. Relatedly I enjoy spending time building and repairing things in a workshop or machine shop.
I like reading fantasy and sf. I'm also a bit of a language geek - I love learning about other languages and the theory behind language - and the old "cunning linguist" jokes...
I'm not a serious gamer but I do have a soft spot for old PC games, especially RPGs.
My taste in music is also a bit nerdy. I love metal and goth rock - Turisas, Týr, Nightwish, Evanescence, Ensiferum, Midnattsol, Orphaned Land, Lacuna Coil, Dalriada... and more bands you've never heard of. (I adore Muse, too, but that's not nerdy.)

My girlfriend is a wonderful young lady, but she isn't very nerdy. She can't understand my love of trains (she prefers horses), can't understand why I keep my cranky old 2CV (she has a rather newer car), and can't understand why I like to listen to metal... but she is that rare kind of person, a girl that likes Scalextric :D
Notwithstanding all that we have a great relationship, and we're both great fans of Lit! Who doesn't like a good smutty story? ;)
 
Happy Monday, nerds and nerd-lovers! How was your Halloween?

I spent mine with my nerd-crush :). He told me he didn't want to go out because he wanted to watch a new TV show: The Walking Dead! And I'm glad he did because it features one of my favorite nerd topics. Zombies! I thought I vaguely remembered seeing commercials for it, but totally forgot about it. I'm glad we stayed and watched it.

I think I totally need to be with this guy now.
