How's everyone enjoying their Labor Day?

I labored...

But seriously, I spent time setting up someone's iPod Shuffle... someone that went out and bought a shuffle yet they don't have a computer.... wtf...

I feel your pain, I had a friend who got an mp3 player but didn't have a PC. Brilliant move ><

Also a bored weekend bump.

*shrug* You really just need to borrow a computer once to rip your CDs and move the mp3's over.

True Blood mmmm now there's a nerdy show... It's basically vampire Porn.

I've been on and off and on thing with True Blood, I've been getting into it more lately since my number of other shows and movies have started to dry up again.

Just found this thread so...fellow nerd checking in.

I love anime/manga. I like some of the mainstream ones while others I don't. There are many I like, but I don't feel like listing them all. Same goes for video games, love videos games, I have 30+ games for my Xbox 360. I also do play some games on my computer such as Minecraft. Use to play WoW a bit but not anymore. If you want to ask about any specific games or anime/manga then feel free to send me a PM.

I'm also a computer nerd. Currently I am going to college for Computer Information Systems. Was a web master in high school, did a little bit of freelance work creating websites for small companies. Won a web design contest at a local college and in 2010 I won first at state for Computer Programming. Not trying to brag, believe me it was nothing special, we just took a knowledge-based test and I scored the highest. Only got a 64 percent on the test, apparently second place got like a 48%. My guess is not too many people are interested in going to state to compete in Computer Programming, thus not a lot of competition. To be honest I am a novice programmer at best that can only make relatively simple applications...so yea, just further verifying myself as a nerd haha.

Aside from those, I like to read and write. I'm a fan of Harry Potter and the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. I do a lot of reading and writing online, I like to role play out scenes with other writers. A lot of the time my role plays are fandoms, but mostly with original characters just tossed in that universe. For example, currently I have a Pokemon Role Playing site that is rather successful. I created it using a forum host known as Proboards. In the past I have also created other sites based around various Anime and other themes. I also write, read and role play a lot of erotic stories of course...gotta love smut.

Yea...not the type of Mario and Yoshi pic I am into. I like Carnage's much, much better.

As it should

I see from your profile that you are a Web Admin. That sounds interesting, mind giving a few details to a fellow computer nerd?

That is the easiest way to describe my job, lol. But sure if you want details I'm happy to expand on it. Drop me a PM if you have any specific questions or just want a more detailed description. For my own privacy I'd prefer not to publish the details just incase it could wind up pointing back to me.

Understood. I will send a PM then.

The awkward moment when you realize that the pins are still in the DVDS you checked out from the rental store.

Hows it going everyone?

How much different is it from the books?

The first season was fairly accurate, the second season less so, and it has just gotten more off the rails from there.

A few quick examples:

Layfette's entire story line since in the book's he's killed in book 1 fairly quickly. In the TV show there's a murder in the parking lot at Merlott's in the book that's Layfette.

Jessica also doesn't exist in the books.

Tara's character does exist, but is nearly the complete opposite of the character in the show.

The sex is pretty much non-existant in the books, there is sex, but the author never goes into detail about.

And those are just a few of the many, differences which keep growing with each season. I've had lots of talks about this stuff with friends of mine who haven't read the books when I try to explain my conflict between enjoying them both.

Well that's going to put a damper on those plans.

I'm doing pretty good now that my uninvited guest has gone home with her child.

How are you doing?

I'm bored and lonely basically is the drill. I'm also just well in a funky mood for some reason. For crying out lout I'm listening to Queen and Santana.

Well I can definitely understand you on the bored and lonely bit, though my mood is pretty standard for me lately.

I keep aimlessly poking about Lit, to the point I've almost considered putting up a personal. However, I know it would probably lead to flooding my inbox and the idea of wading through it all to attempt to find anyone being genuine is just enough to prevent me from making that mistake.
