Done.

Conversion is easy, just selct "save as" on the file menu of most image processing programs -- a few may require you to "export" to jpg format.

Help needed...please.....

Ok, I have pics that are in .jpg format. I want to post them but they exceed the maximum amt. of bytes allowed. I think mine are 130,000 or so bytes. What now? Thanks!

Kat~:rose:

Three options: crop, reduce size, reduce quality.

Crop the image, but if it's got composition you want to keep intact, this might not be desirable.

Next you could reduce the dimensions. Post attachements have a 600x600 limit anyway (it says 600x800 but it doesnt seem to accept any dimension of 800).

Also, you can do a Save As in jpg format again, but reduce the qaulity. A 6 is usually small enough while keeping the image fairly unchanged.

I've attached several pictures that are 800 pixels wide with no problem. The dimesions allowed are 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall.

The file size limitation is easiest to deal with by changing the compression factor of JPG file sin your imaging program. (sometimes labeled "quality" instead of "compression factor.") Check your help menu for how to change it in the program you use.

Ah. Perhaps that was it. It was less than 600 wide, and 800 tall. Even so, at 1024x768 the pic was only 32k. Hard to see the reason for a dimensional limit on an attachment when it's practically an avatar file size. Oh well. :D

Could someone convert this gif file to a bmp for me please? Thanks bunches :)

Eepy, you wanted BMP?

If you're using Internet Explorer, you can open the attachment link in your post, and right click on the picture, select Save Picture As and you should be able to select BMP as the format.

If not, here they are as BMP (I dont think they'll open when you just click on them here).

BMPs get quite a bit larger, evldphnb is 90k and scooby3 is 180k (I had to zip it, it's too large to attach in a post).

If you actually wanted JPG, just bump the request. :D

I haven't seen Scooby in a long while; there's an evil Daphne? And she's blonde? I guess blonde is evil in a way. ;)

Here's the JPG as well:

Thanks Tropism. It's good to know that I can convert those myself :) I needed them in bmp's so that I could manipulate them in Windows Paint.

Evil Daphne is the creation of someone on the internet -- they have a whole Evil Scooby Gang site. Quite interesting :)

Is there an easy way to change a bmp back to a gif or jpg? Or could someone do it for me -- pretty please? :)

Paint offers Save As either GIF or JPG (among others). GIF would offer you the ability to have a transparent background.

Here are the normal GIFs.

Thanks Tropism. I did try to save those as gif files in Paint, but it wouldn't let me -- maybe I have an older version or something. I really need to get PaintShopPro :(

Irfanview can do most of the conversions that Paintshiop Pro can do, and it's free. It's not as good for editing the images, but it's very good at converting and resizing them.
